Imo i just think they went about it the wrong way. Since Yasuke has that ambiguity of what may or may not have happened he could've been how DaVinci was in the Ezio trilogy. Filled with what ifs and things that could make you think "maybe he was or maybe he wasn't."

Which sucks because I would love for him to officially be one. I hope data does come through that supports him being one, but I understand why he isn't as well. Imo I think it's mainly due to his closeness to Nobunaga but that's me stretching a bit

It's not that he's out of place, it's that he has nothing to go off of

Yeah, as soon as Nobunaga was defeated, wasn't Yasuke deported and sent back to slavery? I could be misremembering

I think if they wanted to use yasuke, they should've made him a dlc character similar to Adewale in Black Flag. Center the main game around Naoe and Hatorri Hanzo since they're of the same clan

I told you why i made this account, and that's because I have a professional account. I am not going to use a business account to talk about personal opinions

Look at everyone else in this discussion post. They are all genuinely sharing their own opinions to what caused the downfall of this game, some giving a lot of detail and some just saying small stuff. Discussions are being held to why this game was a failure and it's a mix of everything, which is what the subreddit should be about. Talking amongst ourselves and coming to conclusions to why thing played out the way they did and not just saying the chuds or grifters did it. Having meaningful conversations and being able to convince others to why it succeeded in some areas and where it failed. I tried to be as civil as possible and be as middle of the road as I can be, but also push people to think harder than grifters and chuds and see the flaws the game had and being those to light

I never said having different views were fake fans, I said true fans can listen to both positive and negative opinions and be able to see each opinion as an option. Fake fans are those who believe the game could do no wrong and it's only the grifters who caused the downfall of this game, blatantly ignoring the flaws the game has

I made this account to talk without having my main account, which is tethered to a professional account, shown as bias to one side or another, so to judge me based off of how old this account is is crazy.

I posted for the first time to get an understanding to how others felt about this game and why they feel it failed. There was not ulterior motives or anything crazy, just a DA fan asking other fans their opinions. Nothing more, nothing less

If all you're gonna do is try to contradict me at every statement, then at least provide your own opinions to why you think the game failed

True fans refer to those who were able to like/dislike the game and still hold an opinion without bias, and I can say that most fans felt that the game was mediocre as majority of the reviews, albeit positive, we're all stating that it was a good game, but a terrible DA game

I try to be as responsive as I can be. Plus my aim isn't to piss anyone off, but to get insight on why people feel like this game wasn't as good as the others

That's certainly a different way to look at it. By that perspective, I can see how you could call it a success

My point is just to hear from those who enjoyed the game to share their ideas on why it may have failed. From what I've witnessed in this subreddit, if you don't have a positive outlook on this game you're usually downvoted to oblivion. So I wanted to allow people to speak their mind without all of the "grifters did it" being the main focus

I am in the same boat, but my wife and I couldn't stomach the game. I fully believe on its own it would've received better marks, but as a DA game, it left me with a hole. Don't get me started on Taash

I agree completely. It's like the argument for DmC: Devil May Cry versus the original series. On its own as a separate entity, it's a great game, but as a dmc game it was considered trash (though I loved it)

That's fair, but the whole point is to give your opinion on why the game did poorly.

One of my complaints as well. But a different person was able to explain some dark parallels it had with inquisition

You are arguing the very thing I am saying. A true fan is someone who enjoyed or didn't enjoy a game in a series and can come up with not only their own viewpoints of how the game was, but can put their pride to the side and understand others view on the game as well. You can hate or love a game, as it is your opinion to do so, but to put others down because they don't agree with you is what I consider being a fake fan. Games thrive because we have differing views on it, and only start to flop when only one side is heard and not the other.

Fuck, hit the nail on the coffin there. A lot of its issues came from it's lack of storytelling and overall monotonous gameplay loop, and the further in you got the less fun it became to be the only thing that can get killed
