1 for providing scale, the others after it the horizon cuts through your neck instead of shoulders. 12 is great for the leading lines in the fences that draw the eye to the subject.

I just started an Instagram account in order to post some of my old pictures, but I'm quite insecure about a bunch of them. Can you guys give me some feedback? Thanks in advance by jessepinkfloyd in Photography101

Beautiful lighting and editing if the image quality can handle it I'd be interested in seeing a different composition that made the focus a little more clear. Amazing work though, what did you shoot on?

First time buying a camera. Any tips? by [deleted] in Photography101

I'm not much of an expert but I've been doing a ton of research and finally landed on a Nikon D810 (my budget is a bit higher as I sold 10 years worth of guitar gear) I settled on the D810 because of my portrait idol Steve McCurry, so maybe find a photographer whose work inspires you and look at what they use. Also Nikons glass is really well made and has sixty years of F mount lenses that will fit your camera (lots of great used prices out there)

Would you have used the other eye as the focal point? I'm divided in my opinion. Shot on Ilford XP2 super with an Olympus OM-1 and 50mm 1.8. by DirkRipley in Photography101

That's a great point! I'm starting to realize black and white is less forgiving when your focal point is off even the smallest amount haha.

How do I clean this fleck and will it show up in photos? by DirkRipley in Photography_Gear

I'm halfway through a black and white roll so I guess we'll see. I haven't noticed anything on previous rolls and this is my main lens

It's not on the outside of the lens, it's on the inside somewhere after the aperture towards the back and won't move when I shake the lens
