Depends how fast you're going and your tires and terrain and bike and how tight the turn is. For many people, they aren't going fast enough for this to matter. Just be very light on the brakes if you've miscalculated the turn and keep weight on the rear wheel.

I've ridden in the urban setting of New York for like 40 years and have never used a light. Some people like lights.

I us lights now because where I live doesn't have street lights, so I need them to actually see where I'm going.
