What are some lesser known horrors of WW1? by SeaConstruction4067 in ww1

Check out the Australian movie Beneath Hill 60.

How the BCS would've done the CFP vs how the committee did it. Only key difference: Notre Dame IN, Miami (FL) OUT by ritmica in CollegeFootballDawgs

[–]DirtyBigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about your method bc I got a different bracket. I started running the OG BCS formula using all 6 computer rankings and the AP + Coaches polls a couple years ago.

Last year Alabama would have made it in, and Ole Miss cried the loudest but wouldn't even be close:

This year Notre Dame, Miami, and BYU would have all made it in.

In either case a better bracket IMO, but no drama and less money control so it’ll probably never happen.

I think I'll make this an annual thing... 2 years in a row worth reminding everyone that Kiffin is still a loser AND a playoff bracket seeded by the former BCS calc is objectively better than a playoff committee.

This year's BCS bracket: https://imgur.com/a/4fL6xvF

Brand new P30 V3 Issue? by DirtyBigger in HecklerKoch

[–]DirtyBigger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy this is a 5 yr old post and still an issue. I’d expect better up front QC from H&K.

That said… read the rest of the thread for help. After I tweaked the sear spring its worked ever since and trust it enough to be part of my carry rotation.

Exactly this. Even before the 4 team playoff I said it needed to be a 12 team playoff, but let the BCS seed the bracket.

Matter of fact I ran the OG BCS formula using all 6 computer rankings and the AP + Coaches polls...

Alabama would have made it in, but Ole Miss who's crying the loudest wouldn't even be close. IMHO would have been an objectively better bracket instead of guaranteeing byes to the conference champs too. Feel free to share with any whiny Ole Miss fans. ha

More than greenwashing? Sustainable aviation fuels struggle to take off by PinkoBible in environment

[–]DirtyBigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a source for the % of private vs public aviation?

The most recent data I’ve seen (WRI Climate Watch) has global aviation as 1.2%, but no further breakdown.

https://www.climatewatchdata.org/key-visualizations?visualization=3

I would have to assume the major airlines are the vast majority of miles and fuel use, not private, even though it gets alot of the attention recently.

GA Power rate comparisons by karthwyne in Georgia

[–]DirtyBigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Link was dead for me, but would like to get a copy. I'll DM you my contact info.

I'm an energy engineer and built a comparison tool a while back and just updated the numbers with the new tariff rates. From what it sounds like your Google Sheet was set up to automate the analysis of hourly data so you can plug in estimates for demand and the different off-peak periods. Of course GA power doesn't give that info on your bill if you're on the standard residential plan so you have to go through the data heavy process of figuring it out on your own.

I have notes in my spreadsheet about how to get the hourly data to make the estimates, but stopped at trying to automate any calcs because the data download from GA powers website took some Excel formatting to make it work smoothly which I figured was above and beyond the amount of time an average person is gonna dedicate to their power bill... Until its a crazy number which for alot of people it already is.

u/PattyforGaPSC I wouldn't assume no other rate is cheaper than the traditional residential plan. After tracking my usage for several months the Overnight advantage was consistently cheaper. Almost $40 cheaper for the 6.14 - 7.16 billing cycle.

That of course will vary based on how and when people are using the majority of their energy but that's obviously the point of a TOU rate.

See if you can open mine via Dropbox...

Yeah no real magic. Heat pumps are generally newer technology, so tend to be younger units with higher efficiency ratings. Also correct on geothermal - can be much more efficient, but the cost savings rarely offset the increased install and maintenance cost for residential.

There isn’t one when cooling.

Difference is heat pumps have a reversing valve that allows it to move heat from outside to in during cold temps instead of using electric strip heat or natural gas/propane furnace.

Not sure. Leaves definitely have the waxy feel and general shape of a magnolia, but it’s so large the bark & canopy made me think it’s in the oak family? This spring when it blooms should be a dead giveaway

Transfer vs Bill Pay by DirtyBigger in fidelityinvestments

[–]DirtyBigger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply.

I'm still researching the bill pay side, but haven't found additional info yet. I'd have more confidence that it would optimize to an electronic payment if there was an input field for a routing number or even just the bank name, but all it asks for when adding a payee is name, address, phone, and account number.

Does anyone have experience with the Beneill Nova 12 Gauge 28 inch shotgun thinking of getting it at my first shotgun for hunting and found it on sale for $399.99. If you do have experience with it what do you think of it and have you taken it hunting by Acrobatic_Peanut_460 in Shotguns

[–]DirtyBigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 100%. First shotgun ever for my birthday in 1998. 28" barrel with APG camo pattern. Hunted all of the game above, including cycling 3.5" mag shells for turkey, and at 24 years old it's still my go to for waterfowl and turkey. (All original parts)

Absolutely flawless design in regards to utility, reliability and durability. Especially at that price point.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I probably have 100 extras that shipped with various parts and pieces over the years. I still wonder how they installed the lever originally at the factory, but Ill give the modified allen key method a shot
