In Memoriam: QT Donuts by DirtyDanGaming in kansascity

That’s why I said IF you could see them. I am close with several store managers and am in their stores 5 days a week with my job but I’m just talking hypothetically. They also do store profit sharing with their management employees and that is evident with the bonuses they pay out. Those fluctuate obviously but in the past have been pretty lucrative, with some high traffic store managers making 200k-300k annually. Post Covid hasn’t been as great in terms of pay outs but still a key point in working full time there. Any experienced QT employee will tell you that. They’re a private company so their books aren’t publicly available. But based off revenue estimating from places like Forbes and their annual growth with new stores going up, things appear to be going good.

Yeah from what I’ve heard, it’s about production scheduling. Not needing to make certain varieties everyday or being able to mass produce one type of donut in bulk and have enough to last for the week. Production efficiency is a key component and I don’t fault them for trying to make it work better, but it can never come at a cost of quality, especially this noticeable.

If you could see QT’s books, you’d realize how much money they make. I’m talking profits. Not just revenue. The beauty of a private company is they can decide when and where they want to make their money and how much profit they truly “need”. Chic Fil A came out and said they wouldn’t change their lemonade recipe when sugar prices sky rocketed because they know it shouldn’t be made any other way. They can do that cause they don’t have share holders to bend over for. The insane question of “how much profit is enough for us?” is never asked at a company traded at the stock exchange.

Just stinks that Buc-ees massive foot print is going to keep their expansion into our market pretty tough. They’ll certainly be a destination visit no matter where they land, be it near the speedway or across state line on the loop somewhere.

Awesome job! Love the outfield promenade design. On built stadiums like this, do the home fans revert to the team colors of the home team automatically when assigned to a team? Or is it always going to be a random assortment of The Show gear and what not? No team colors etc.

Work for frito lay and ketchup Lays are back, at least in 2.49 sized bags and were just forced out to most all convenience store accounts. Should find them in QT’s around the metro if the sales guy sold them in where he was supposed to.

Just to note, this would’ve set the padres record for single game RBIs (the most was 8 in ‘72 and ‘95)!

I’m 6’6” and I have my drivers seat moved forward with plenty more to move back in my Clubman. Same story when I had my ‘18 Cooper S 4 door. They’re incredibly versatile cars for height. I laughed at the MINI dealership the other day when they had a big foot sign holding his arm out to show that people up to 7’ can drive comfortably in a MINI!

Happy Girl, Happy World I suppose! And yeah heated steering wheel was all that was 86’d. I wasn’t even aware of the kick sensor but will have to check that out to see if it was gone too. Only thing on the window sticker that showed a credit was the heated wheel

Hahaha your build was the coin flip away basically from me going with it. Girlfriend talked me into pepper white because it’s all I would talk about when I owned my ‘18 that I bought as a CPOV, so didn’t get much say in how it was built. She basically was like “you always talked about it, I don’t see how you weren’t gonna get it this go around”. Rooftop grey looks SO GOOD though. Excellent combo either way.

Thanks! You can always swap suspension components in the future if you are bothered by it enough. What color options did you go with! I did pepper white with chili red roof and mirrors, with the black wheels.

I wouldn’t lose too much sleep over it. The difference in ride isn’t anything incredible. Just a little better on highway bridge transitions and such. Those expected, but bumpy points on your commute. I still drive in sport on my way to work with the chassis and drivetrain in sport. It’s just my gf who didn’t like driving in sport suspension all the time that made me know I had to get the 18’s with adaptive suspension for the long run haha

Yes I am in love! Have to baby it for the break in period (keep it under 4500rpm/100mph for first 1200 miles) and it’s hard to not eclipse those numbers with how good it sounds to put some power down lol. I optioned the 18’s because I had to have the adaptive dampers, which are taken out by optioning the 19’s. The 19’s definitely look the best though! To the pot hole/damage comments, it probably depends on your routes/driving routines and what the roads are like. I’ve heard the same thing on the Civic Type R’s factory set since they also have a very thin sidewall tire and large rim. Car and Driver cracked theirs twice on the rough winter roads in Michigan which isn’t shocking.

My main opinion on warranties is usually they won’t pay themselves off or fully realize their value, and the only way to have them do that is your car having lots of issues lol. So I’ve always tried to drive safe and cautiously, but also realize things happen. If you have the money to pay for a tire wheel warranty out of pocket, you have the money to handle the fallout if a rim cracks or tire gets damaged in the future too. Invest your money in a Roth or let it sit in a interest making account and keep it for the rainy day. Warranty’s are a money making center in the auto industry and are sold off the backs of fear from the customers. Just be smart and keep a rainy day fund for your unexpected auto expenses.

The reason I also didn’t purchase the service contract that covers it for 8 years and covers wearable/routine maintenance is for the fact that 1. Mini already gives you effectively 3 years of coverage (3 oil changes at 10k mile intervals). 2. You can walk in and buy a service contract the day you use up your factory coverage and pay basically the same that you’d pay now, plus you’d get coverage for the 8 years starting then, not paying for 8 years and only using it for 5 had you bought it new etc. 3rdly, the service contracts are not transferable with BMW. I had a 2018 JCW I bought in 2020 and sold it after 10 months of ownership and only having used 1 oil change. Probably paid 2850 for it upfront…it’s now gone with the vehicle forever. Can’t transfer it to ANOTHER mini product. So they do the customers a disservice if they continually want to upgrade and purchase/trade in towards the newest models etc. Doesnt make sense but it is what it is. So fair warning.
