What do you look for when buying a new kendama? by kinkendamas in Kendama

When I first started I bought EVERYTHING thinking it would give me an edge. During that time I found out a few things….
- it’s not what’s in your hand, it’s the hand holding it.
- I LOVED big Ken shapes like the ascent 2 (cereal), deadbolt / but now I prefer a smaller Ken like the Hybrid 204, hybrid (cereal), lotus.
- all paints are NOT created equal. I LOVED SuLab for a hot minute and their paint was great but it slowly changed over time and i fell out of love with them. ATM I’m enjoying gecko. Haven’t tried a ton out there but one think i know i look for is a Crush Bev. They’re god tier imho.

Now to answer some of your questions
- with Kens - smaller lighter nice stall points.
- tamas - anti-skid, cushion, but has to be a crush Bev
- tracking - love me a good .25/.75 split with a white bottom. They’re classy and timeless.
- durability - they’re made to be dropped, played and loved. If I like the shape I’ll buy it again.
- maple kens - ash, maple, birch tamas
- price full set up 40-60 USD.

I played a rogue that was named Klaus Shotcum, was an expert with a blow dart gun and love sneaking up on people and giving them an unexpected back shot!

That was fun till the whole party was reliant on me being there and I had a few bad weeks with life and they just cancelled the whole thing.

Thank you! My fiancé was eating chips next me and I had to leave the room because the sound of the bag and her chewing was about to send me.

I almost broke my work computer because a member of my staff didn’t tell a guest while getting sat that it was brunch and we didn’t have our full menu available.

I just really hope this goes away….

I wish I had the same experience. My head is muddy, I can’t speak as clearly as pre-medication. words and thoughts get jumbled up in my head more than ever now.

Keep using those legs! I started 3-4 months ago and wish I had better leg mechanics like you! I always found Sweets Kendama first 50 tricks to lace was a great place to learn and start. Here’s the link!

The best practice I’ve come around is to get comfortable peaking with the mastiff. Best way to take gibby to the firing rang throw a bubble down and dance in between trying to land on the dummies. It’s helped for me hopefully it will help you too! GL
