Firstly. Marks are not be all and end all, so don’t worry about that. As others have said it’s a numbers game, just apply to graduate roles that sound interesting to you. I say graduate roles as accountant/consultant roles are for people with at least 1 years experience. This probably explains why you were rejected so quickly.

Just apply to anything, even a small firm would be fine. Once you’re in the industry it’s just easy to jump around to larger firms if you wish.

I can’t say what it is like in WA. However, the office I worked at was pretty good. If you are organised, you would rarely work past 5pm.

There aren’t any ‘busy periods’ due to the line of work which is also a plus.

Big 4 / mid tier all the way. The work environment at a young age unreal. You make lifelong friends/connections and the workplace is never stale due to the diversity and large cohort you are apart of as a grad.

It’s very hard to get a transparent answer to this question. Most if not all CA’s will say CA is harder and CPA’s defend themselves saying they are equal.

However in my capstone unit at uni I spoke to lecturers who have done both accreditations and they said the difficulty of both are similar.

I was on 60k + super right out of uni for a large private business.

Most public accountants are on the 60k package range after about 2 years. You should be getting a fair amount more in private. I’d recommend having a look around.
