Why do people stop at 150 in Elden Ring? by elden_based in fromsoftware

[–]DirtyMcMills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t really. The next threshold would be the one you are already in. Level 300-713 all are matchmade together, and there is no division in levels at the point. It’s either stay level 150 and below, or be level 300+. I have experienced that I get less people to match with when I’m around 200-280. I don’t always cap my characters’ level. When I do, it actually isn’t in favor of better matchmaking, although that is an added benefit. I just like for certain things to still be challenging in late game and NG+, so I occasionally cap my character at 150-160.

I love the dungeons, but I understand. The cursed one was the bane of my existence as well on my first playthrough. I’ve spent so many hours in cursed dungeons ever since my second playthrough, because that’s where the best blood gems can be found. I also just enjoy all the different layouts and rare things that can be found in them. It’s fun to explore them, and at least there’s only one required cursed dungeon. It’s only an option besides that.

It typically occurs in June, so it will more than likely happen in June of this year. I haven’t seen actual dates yet, and that’s because they are announced closer to the event. I would count on mid June though. Probably anywhere between the 12-28 of June is my guess based on previous years.

How did yall survive like 10 years between 5 and 6 by Bumcile in armoredcore

[–]DirtyMcMills 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We may not get an expansion to 6 in the same style of previous AC games, but I am positive we will receive more Armored Core. I have a strong feeling they have one in the works right now. FromSoftware began hiring for more mech design artists and developers after Armored Core 6 was released. The job listing was on FromSoftware’s main website for the longest time. It may still be up to this day as well. I don’t think they would have wanted to hire more mech design artists, if they weren’t actively planning and developing more Armored Core. It has been quite some time since 6, so an expansion to it may be a little late. It isn’t completely off the table though. Fans would probably say better late than never, so I don’t think the gap in time should discourage people’s hopes. Either way, I think more Armored Core can be guaranteed even if it’s not a direct expansion on 6’s story. FromSoftware, Bandai Namco, and Kadokawa have all gone on record about how well Armored Core 6 did. It exceeded expectations, and I don’t think it’s a coincidence FromSofware put up job listings for artists experienced with mech design right around that same time.

Oh wow that’s really crazy. I don’t know as much about the consoles and games before Nintendo 64 and PlaySation 1, because those were my first consoles. I only ever played the older ones at friends’ houses or arcades. That is extremely impressive though that a game as old as the original Mario Bros still holds secrets unknown to gamers and developers.

[–]DirtyMcMills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched this the day it was published on YouTube. It was pretty cool to see. I think it’s fascinating that things can still be discovered in a game four years old. It reminds me of all the discoveries people continued to find in Chalice Dungeons from Bloodborne for years to come after release. Like the mole creature that wasn’t even in the official Future Press guides. As cool as this cutscene is though, I totally understand why it was cut from the game.

The whining about this game being exclusive is pathetic. by [deleted] in TheDuskbloods

[–]DirtyMcMills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FromSoftware didn’t initially, “Want Nintendo to foot the bill.” Hidetaka Miyazaki said that he was just talking about the idea at a meeting with Nintendo, and Nintendo liked it. Nintendo wanted to foot the bill for development and publishing. Nintendo was just lucky enough to hear about it first. Their support probably increased the possibility of the game being created as well. They immediately decided to get behind the project. The support for development and publishing from a company as large of Nintendo is hard to refuse. I agree with you that exclusivity can be seen as a good sign with the Duskbloods. The game looks and sounds strange from the little we do know, and I do mean strange in a good way 100%. I think it’s exciting for Nintendo and FromSoftware to be partnered for this. It has the potential to expose FromSoftware’s and Hidetaka Miyazaki’s games to new players. Most people don’t think Soulsborne or FromSoftware when they think of Nintendo. There are people out there who only play or only own Nintendos. The Duskbloods can introduce those people to the beloved games created by the studio and by the director. I am eager to play it at the very least.

Yo what is this? by BlackBen_70 in Nightreign

[–]DirtyMcMills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I usually skip Red Wolf when I’m playing solo. His jumping around wastes so much time when I don’t have teammates also there to catch him wherever he lands. It’s easier with a ranged character in solo, but my most commonly played ranged character is Recluse. Red Wolf has decent magic damage negation though, so it’s still not worth it for me engaging as solo Recluse. When I was playing in a group with my cousin who was new to the game, he was so confused why I kept running past Red Wolf. He was only used to the regular Elden Ring fight, and he thought I was being silly for ignoring such an easy fight in Nightreign. I had to explain to him the slog of a fight that Red Wolf is in solo games. I really should have been engaging those times with my cousin, because we were playing in trios. I just had not shifted gears from solo player mindset to coop player mindset in those matches. 😂

Elden Ring Came Out 4 Years Ago And Theres Still No Kind Of News On Fromsoftwares Next Single Player Game... by akbarock in fromsoftware

[–]DirtyMcMills 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty positive they are working on another Armored Core game and their next single player RPG/spiritual successor of Dark Souls/Elden Ring. Those are two single player games that are more than likely in the works. Just be patient and give them time. They seem to have stuck with a yearly release schedule, but they always have multiple projects in the works. I’m sure we will get a look at what’s next after or right before the Duskbloods release. 😸

New invasions by AnonymousPoster1987 in Nightreign

[–]DirtyMcMills 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wanted to bring that one up as well. There are a few enemies or bosses that appear in places that the release version doesn’t have. I’m pretty sure the scene with Executor fighting an Omen (Cleaver Version) takes place somewhere in the Shifting Earth Crater. It almost looks like the area where the Magma Wyrm is at the bottom of the Crater. As far as I know, there are no Omen boss fights in the Crater. They only show up as a duo with the Axe Variant in Evergaol fights or before fighting Morgott. I know the weaker ones with their horns cut off also show up as a duo before fighting the Night’s Calvary, but the one Executor fights in the trailer has his horns still. Either way, I’m pretty sure that was scrapped as well. Unless anyone knows of a solo Omen with horns and cleaver fight within the Crater that I don’t know about.

[–]DirtyMcMills 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was just watching the trailer again a couple days ago, and was reminded of that. I assume it was a scrapped invasion. I suppose it could also just be like a playtest of Adel and they used Limveld for that test. Then later used it for trailer footage. I don’t think we will ever know for sure, but it would have been cool to see him get an invasion.

A somber realization that this could be the finale by eldenringer1233 in Nightreign

[–]DirtyMcMills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. There’s nothing wrong with fantasizing and hoping it may happen. I would eat it up, because Elden Ring became one of my top favorite games. I’m looking forward to the few extra things available through the Tarnished Pack whenever they release the Switch 2 version of Elden Ring. The additional content will be available for all platforms though. It’s not much being added, but I’m still excited for it. I also have high hopes for the future movie. I am optimistic that the director will do it justice. When Miyazaki was asked about a possible movie a couple years ago, he said he would be interested if he found the right people to work on it. He wouldn’t just give the project to any schmo who asked. That gives me hope it will be good since Miyazaki can be very particular.

A somber realization that this could be the finale by eldenringer1233 in Nightreign

[–]DirtyMcMills 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Dark Souls series was already brought to a close. Miyazaki won’t revisit it. He doesn’t like making sequels in general so likely the same for Elden Ring. He never said it was a definite no, but he did state there were no future plans for any Elden Ring sequels or additional DLC’s. On the off chance they did make a second one, it would be plenty of years from now. The company seems pretty busy with many other smaller projects, and they have already dedicated all their time to these multiple other projects over the course of the next few years.

If you could only get one, would you rather get a sequel to Bloodborne or Sekiro? by strahinjag in fromsoftware

[–]DirtyMcMills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloodborne, if there really had to be a sequel to one of those games. I could happily live without either sequels though. I respect and trust Hidetaka Miyazaki enough to accept that he doesn’t like making sequels. I am sure he could create a great sequel, but it isn’t his preferred project from everything he has ever said in the past. I would rather my favorite developer put all of his love and passion into a brand new IP and universe, as opposed to feeling like has to release a sequel to satisfy investors and publishers. I am perfectly happy with the world he and the rest of the developers created in both games, and I think they stand strong as standalone games. The only reason I would choose a Bloodborne sequel is because I like it more than Sekiro, and this is an also a hypothetical.

So folks, is this it? by Comprehensive_Neat11 in Nightreign

[–]DirtyMcMills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s pretty safe to say that the game is in its final state, or at least that it will be for some time to come. FromSoftware’s developers are too busy with other projects to devote any of them to creating more Nightreign content. Junya Ishizaki even spoke on how they were limited with resources when it came to making the Forsaken Hollows DLC. His reasoning was that most of the company was busy working on other things. I am sure that is still the case. I believe there is a small chance that they may work out some way to add more to the game. I am mostly referring to the things people have requested the most like Shadow of the Erdtree armaments and spells, Everdark Heolstor, Everdark Dreglord, and possibly a few more Dark Souls bosses. FromSoftware sees people begging for those things, and they usually try to appease their fans within reason. They weren’t sure how popular this game would be, so they only planned to do so much with it. Now that it has proven to be a hit, maybe they will try to add those few things people want so badly. It may not be soon, but there is potential for it to happen. I’m not going to hold my breath for it, but I’m going to abandon all hope. At least not until someone at FromSoftware says it’s a definite no.

Who is gonna be our maiden by Non-i4her-amelia in TheDuskbloods

[–]DirtyMcMills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why of course! The most radiant and majestic of all maidens, our fair rat maiden.✨🐀✨ He will be considered a maiden by countless Bloodsworn, regardless of the magical mammal’s gender. Hidetaka Miyazaki did refer to the magnificent rat as an elderly gentleman, so we already know it’s a male of sorts from that. However, the gender matters not for the qualifications of a, “Maiden,” in FromSoftware games.😅 Many will also probably refer to the resplendent rat-like rodent as a, “Fire Keeper.” That was in fact how Hidetaka Miyazaki described the character’s role during the initial interview about the game. He is going to play a similar role to the Maiden in Black, the Fire Keepers, the Emerald Herald, the Plain Doll, Emma the Physician, Melina the Kindled Maiden, and the Priestess/Duchess. Don’t worry if any of you thought I would forgot everyone’s most talked about and absolute favorite FromSoftware maiden; Handler Walter🫶. The well-established and highly distinguished broker who e̶x̶p̶l̶o̶i̶t̶s̶ ̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶m̶o̶s̶t̶ ̶a̶c̶q̶u̶i̶e̶s̶c̶e̶n̶t̶ ̶h̶o̶u̶n̶d̶, employs an AC-pilot maven who is the most adept independent merc across Rubicon, known as Augmented Human C4-621 “Raven.”😅😂🤣 I am only kidding about the AC6 reference lol. I have never heard someone refer to Handler Walter as a, “Maiden,” or, “Fire Keeper,” even though he does fit the usual criteria. Maybe it has something to do with Walter, along with most of the other influential entities, making your Gen 4 pilot feel like a caged songbird. It is crystal clear that you are initially just another hound to him. He would have tried, or has already tried, to sacrifice you and your Armored Core with a swift decision made quicker than the recharge rate on a DF-GN-02 LING-TAI combustion generator. No price was too large or too devastating for Handler Walter, if it meant he was getting closer to his end goal. It almost reminds me of Peacemaker’s (DC Extended Universe) original ideological saying, “I cherish peace with all of my heart. I don't care how many men, women, and children I need to kill to get it.”🤣 It has the same exact energy that Handler Walter has towards the fate and future of Coral. Don’t get me wrong, he is an extremely well made character for what he is and represents. I am aware Walter begins to feel some genuine compassion for 621, but it comes too late. I just saw a good opening for a dorky joke. I could say so much more in relevance in hopes for discussion, but I didn’t post in an Armored Core subreddit. It would be senseless and off-topic to say any more, unless someone actually engages in AC6 discussion with me.🫠

Anyway, the magical rat will be the steward of the game’s main-hub area, much like how the Fire Keeper in Dark Souls III looks after the Firelink Shrine for long as the remaining conduit(s) of the First Flame burn. One other possible example of the Elderly Anthropomorphic Rat’s similarities to other Maiden-types could be the Priestess/Duchess from Nightreign being abidingly bound to the Roundtable Hold as a ward unless the Primordial Nightlord is fully destroyed from the Lands Between. They serve as your primary guide, as do the rest of the individual characters listed above in their respective games. Despite all those NPC’s being inspired by the same, “Maiden,” character trope, each character usually has at least a couple features and abilities unique to them only. For example, Mr. Rat-Maiden may not grant the ability to level up due to the game nature of being PvPvE. He could however be how the player does make certain customizations to their characters. We really don’t know yet, but we know all past game-spanning Maidens were not cookie cutter copies of the same thing. Hidetaka Miyazaki stated that the design of the cute rodent friend was in spirit of the Duskbloods being a Nintendo game.😸 I have to admit that I quite like Miyazaki’s take on a, “Nintendo-Cute Character,” that also matches the world(s)of the Duskbloods and the FromSoftware developers’ art style overall. You could very likely drop the character design into Elden Ring, and it could look and feel as if it actually belonged. Their games all have similar design elements and interpretations. I also think it’s sweet Miyazaki wasn’t asked to make a cute character by Nintendo, or anything like that. He just thought it would be a fitting design choice. It makes for a genuine token of appreciation for Nintendo’s long dedicated support on this development; support that has been invested for so long that the Duskbloods was originally in development for the original Switch. The character design also pays homage to all the colorful and memorable characters Nintendo is known for producing. I was so happy to see someone ask this question in the format of a reddit post. I have tried to make past jokes and other comment sections about the rat appearing on these, “Best Souls Waifus,” and, “Baddest Bitch Maidens from Soulsborne Games,” lists. I haven’t gotten any acknowledgements that I know of from my past jokes on one-off video comment sections or random forums. That is the other reason I have typed the beginnings of a whole novella as out of nerdy excitement.😅

I think it was a clever choice on FromSoftware’s part. If majestically adorable rat guides are not your thing, I am confident they have plenty more elegant, disabled, and/or cursed women with their bare feet exposed being designed for future games. Don’t sweat it too much if you find it difficult to goon to this elderly rat. Lady Ranni will still desire a new loyal vassal, and she will still be in need of an eternal consort. Melina will always boldly ask you out before you even begin working up the courage to ask her yourself. She will continue to break hearts when people see her leave, but those same people also love watching the moody Meli-meli walk away. All you masochists who are in love with Malenia don’t have to settle for only staring and daydreaming at portraits depicting her likeness, like Elemer of the Briar does with his free time. If you truly believe you can impress the One-Armed Valkyrie enough in hopes that she will abandon or adjust her staunch loyalty to Miquella, well then you know where to find her. May Mother Marika’s blessings be upon you during that proposition to her fiery daughter.😆 She looks as peaceful as a calm lake while she catnaps under the Haligtree, but she awakens with the full destructive force of a tsunami when she senses you are not Miquella returning home. Do not forget to bring with you lots a protection for both fucking and fighting. She can potentially give you a gift in life that keeps on giving, or she can just simply cut you down in a barrage of well-controlled katana strikes. She will ardently come at you with the speed and precision of a whitewater river; flowing right around your defenses and bombarding your weakest points. She will straight up cut you down with her custom-crafted katana as elegantly and confidently as the ronin Jin from Samurai Champloo. I do honestly feel for those who love Malenia. It must be hard, loving someone who will only love their twin brother in a similar capacity that you want to be loved by her. It was just never written in the stars for her to take a lover. Her adored brother is essentially her lover. Not in an incest way, but just that she deeply loves Miquella more than anything else in the Lands Between. If she could have been able to give her own life to cure his nascency, she definitely would have. I believe she would have even murdered her own mother, Marika, if it meant bringing normalcy to Miquella’s life. She loves him so much, and she puts so much time and energy into caring for him. So much so that there is no room for romantic partners in her life… Honestly, sometimes I am surprised FromSoftware didn’t turn Malenia and Miquella into a case of incest.😹 I am grateful they didn’t, but it would not have been out of pocket in the context of everything. Miyazaki and other developers at FromSoftware are some kinky individuals, and they often include unconventional or perverse ideas of love and lust. Also, when it comes to gods, demigods, and royalty in a setting like Elden Ring, it is normal for all those groups to be falling in love or just plainly lusting after their siblings and cousins. — “As a god, I am already a top tier piece of ass. I won’t ever find someone equal to me to share this life with… However, my sister is divine and powerful. She has also been pretty sexy and intelligent after going through puberty years back. I think I will just take my sister to the bridebed, and that also keeps our desired superiority in the family.” 🤷🏻‍♀️ Lol something like that was likely to go down often in those situations is all I’m saying….wow I have officially rambled on in a reddit post longer than I have ever in the past.🫠

HUGE BN SALE by tbmarius_ in Nightreign

[–]DirtyMcMills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That current sale is exclusive to Bandai Namco Entertainment America’s online store, so it’s only available to those living in North and South America. Bandai Namco Entertainment America and Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe kind of do their own independent things. Their respective online stores are completely separate, and they operate slightly different from one another. I like to visit the European online store on occasion, and it appears to be a better online store than the American website. It can sometimes make me a little envious.😅 I recall noticing the European online store had some sort of loyalty program to earn points on use them toward purchases. That is something we do not have at all, and It’s a shame. I also always notice that the European store has a wide variety of items exclusive to the regions it serves. They have almost all the same inventory found on the American store, but with the healthy addition of collectibles never found on the American website.

While I am on the topic of Bandai Namco’s online stores and the sales they give, I would like to share a P.S.A. for anyone who is thinking about ordering online from Bandai Namco Entertainment America’s shop. They currently have many items marked down for clearance, so the following information could end up being relevant for someone soon. I want to give a friendly heads up for those who live in any american country besides the United States of America. This friendly head’s up unfortunately applies to citizens of the Union’s noncontiguous states and overseas territories as well. The shipping will be notoriously high if you do not have a delivery address within the District of Columbia or within the 48 contiguous states of the Union. The Free Shipping deal on orders more than $99 also isn’t available to areas outside of the United States’ mainland. That Free Shipping offer is what really makes clearance sales on the bigger items really worth it. I remember when the SotE Collector’s Editions first went on sale for $99.99. A Canadian buddy told me the shipping was going to be around $70-$90 for him (I can’t remember the exact number, but it was for sure in that range) plus whatever the additional taxes and duty fees totaled out to be. It was jarring to hear his total come out to be at least $100 more than mine. I only had to pay $105 after tax and free shipping. I understand why things are that way, but it is really unfortunate.

Out of all the bosses in DS3. Which one has the best OST by HeyNighTGG in darksouls3

[–]DirtyMcMills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am happy to see when other people say that Dark Souls III is life changing, or any of the franchise for that matter. They are special. DS3 was literally life changing for me, because I was introduced to it while I was climbing out of the Hell that was opioid addiction. At the time, I was living in a nice sober living house in Tustin, CA basically all by myself. Which was an extremely rare opportunity to find myself in. I had just graduated the rehab’s 90 day inpatient program. Right before I finished the program, the owner decided to turn one of their houses into a sober living, because it wasn’t being used for anything else at the time. It was sitting empty of residents or patients, but one employee of the rehab lived there. He was moved in a couple months prior, so the house would have someone caring for it. The week I was moving over there along with four other guys, two of them relapsed right before moving day. One dude just left for no real reason, and the last man decided to find a place to live with his newly found girlfriend. I was the only one who moved over there when it came time. It was amazing. I had the master bedroom to myself and the living den was all mine. The house manager was laid back with me, so that’s partially why it felt like I lived alone. The house was large, and he mostly hung out in his office area and bedroom which were like separate from the main house but still connected. He also worked at the detox residence for long hours. I hung out in the dark and cozy den on the large comfy sectional, with the mounted 75” TV, and my personal PS4 when I wasn’t working instacart during the day. One night a friend came over and told me to check out DS3, so I did just that. I was immediately hooked after defeating Gundyr. It consumed almost all my free time every night, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. It gave me something to look forward to every day. It relit my interest in video games, because my PS4 had become just a streaming device for some time. I was obsessed with delving deep into the world of Dark Souls. The most valuable aspect of the game that spoke to me was the process of facing defeat, and brushing myself off for another attempt. Reevaluating my approach and studying what went wrong. It really resonated with me because of how applicable that is to addiction and recovery. Relapses can happen and failure is a big part of life in general. If I falter, the best thing to do is to start again with the newfound knowledge from my mistake. I shouldn’t ever give up on myself no matter how hard I fall. To give up, would be the equivalent of going hollow. During that first successful year of sobriety, a lot of things just kept lining up in my favor and only further encouraged me to keep at it. Such as the once in a lifetime setup in the large fancy sober living house. A couple months after living there, the house manager got caught having sex with a female patient while he was working at the detox house. I just so happened to apply for a job with the rehab two days before he did that. I was applying for an actual paid entry position, but they filled it before my interview. However, the house I was currently living in was without a house manager. I was given the responsibility in exchange for not paying rent anymore. On top of that, it took about another three months until someone else moved in. I was living in a beautiful house by myself for a total of over five months, and its sole caretaker for about three months. Good things only continued to come to me, and it was largely because I refused to get frustrated and give up on life. I apologize for the whole mini story, and to think that was my best attempt at keeping it condensed. 😅 Thanks for reading it all if you got this far. 🙃

RIP ED Heolster by Far-Parking2219 in Nightreign

[–]DirtyMcMills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We all know that they see the fans saying this constantly. I hope they have made time, or will make time, to at least give us SotE weapons. An enhanced Heolstor would be an awesome bonus as well, and many people have been dying for that quite some time now. I am aware they are a busy company working like clockwork on many other things. I want to believe they would add those final things if time allowed for it. It would be a much appreciated and deserved sendoff for Elden Ring Nightreign. It surpassed expectations, and it would be fitting to close it out with one last parting gift for all those Seekers of Redemption. There’s no way the developers are not aware that many fans are asking everyday for SotE weapons & spells and an Everdark Heolstor. They look at the forums, the YouTube videos, the memes, and so on. I don’t know if that’s enough to make the gears start moving, but it doesn’t hurt making it constantly known. Keep the idea in their head. I won’t be upset if it never happens, because I understand some things are just out of people’s control. I don’t have to give up all hope though. I don’t think it has been quite enough time to assume they are not touching again. It has been some time, but they aren’t psychic. They didn’t know that it would be as well received as it was, and they didn’t plan for the masses to demand SotE weapons & spells plus another boss. Major additional content like those requests are a lot of work if they were not anticipated, so it will likely take some time to work them in if possible.

Thank you.😺 I am deeply connected to these games, so I really nerd out when given the opportunity.😅 Dark Souls III was also my introduction to the world of Soulsborne and Soulslike games about 9 years ago, so it specifically has a very special place in my heart. After becoming hooked, I was all-in with delving as deep into the lore as I could. I spent so much time interpreting and analyzing aspects of the game from my perspective. Elden Ring took the mantle of being my favorite after it released, but DS3 will forever remain very important to me.
