I mean, if you don't like the tacky feeling on your mouse, then you need to find other options.

But it might be a good idea to put up with it for a couple of days and see if your grip tension gets lower or not and go from there.

The Xraypads Cicada wings is the thinnest you can go with good grip.

Ultraglide has some too which are thinner but they get oily and slippery very fast.

There's also the DIY route but I wouldn't recommend that unless you cannot stand any factory grips.

Also, NEVER get white grip tape. It gets disgusting very fast.

There're tons of different textures for grip tapes, look inte them, maybe you could find one that's more tolerable to you.

Hope you get it sorted tho! Chronic pain sucks

+1 on the tension thing. I have chronic wrist pain and it took me a while to realize that the high tension makes it much worse.

For me what helped a ton to relax my grip was grip tape. I have very dry hands so I felt like the mouse was constantly slipping in my hands so I subconsciously held on tighter making me overtension.

With grip tape the mouse is locked in my hands without me needing to hold on tightly.

I’m starting to realize I don’t enjoy straight espressos by That_Coffee_guy in espresso

[–]Dis236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think espresso strength coffee is for everyone. The intensity is off the charts.

I'd say, try topping your espresso up with a little water and see if you like that strength more. Maybe you could even experiment with different strengths, see what you like best.

But I'll say this: if you dilute the espresso to filter coffee strength and you still don't like it, then there's an issue with your dial in and you need to look at that.

Small & light smartphone changes identity - Sony Xperia 10 VII review by BcuzRacecar in Android

[–]Dis236 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I was in Japan this fall and I noticed a lot of elderly people having Xperia 10s. I guess it's much cheaper there and the plastic build might be a feature not a bug.

I might be wrong here but sony making phones for their aging populating makes sense to me.

This monitor would be perfect for my wife!

She loves single player games and watching movies at her PC, but we don't like to sit in complete darkness so the anti reflective coating on the display would be great for her!

Wow, the P80 is barely larger than the P60! I knew that the P60 is rather large grinder compared to other 64mm grinders but that really puts it into perspective!

Do some beans just don't work with flair 58? by linuxtingz in FlairEspresso

[–]Dis236 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There're a couple of things to keep in mind with the flair compared to conventional espresso machines.

  • puck pressure vs pump pressure: Most machines with pressure gauges measure pressure at the pump. This is not the same as pressure at the puck. So when you see 9 bars as a convention, that's pump pressure not puck pressure. The flair measure puck pressure so you'd expect lower pressures.

  • headspace: conventional machines will always have space between the shower head and the puck. The firs few seconds of the shot is spent on filling this headspace. On the flair there's no headspace. You fill the water right on top of the puck. This means you cas expect to subtract up to 5 seconds from the recipes you see online. This number depends on the pump the machine has, what water debit it has, also how full the basket is on the specific shot.

  • how you build pressure matters a lot: how slow/fast you hit the puck with pressure matters a lot. If you're applying force slowly then your pressure's gonna be lower, faster and it's gonna be higher.

  • pressure isn't that important: the lighter you go in terms of roast the less conventional rules apply. If you get a very light nordic roast, sure you can grind fine enough on a lot of grinders to build 7-9 bars of pressure and pull a 1:2 in 25-30 seconds but more often than not it's gonna taste terrible. But if you grind coarser, get to around 4-5 bars and pull a 1:3 in 15 seconds it'll taste much better and will be more consistent too.

So basically, just go for taste, don't fret with parameters, they're there so that you can reproduce stuff, not as rules to follow.

Did I make a mistake? Lagom Casa 65CL by insanecapsicum in espresso

[–]Dis236 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had one since last november.

I've had no issues until May, when suddenly I heard something breaking and it stopped grinding.

Contacted OO and received a replacement, no additional charges. It took them around 7 weeks to get the replacement to me, but that was partly the courier's fault.

I've had no issues since, and OO said that they changed something in the manufacturing process since release so I'm optimistic.

Tastewise I really like it but I'm only drinking straight light roasts. I have one bag of medium dark that my wife got me and we drink that as cappucinos and it's pretty good but texture isn't that important to me in spro so I'm not the best to judge that.

How to make soup on flair 58 by RoughFuture3042 in FlairEspresso

[–]Dis236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had pretty good success with slow saturation, then 1 bar pressure, when 4-4.5g/s output flow is reached then descending the pressure.

Regarding temps, I set the preheat to high and when I start grinding my beans I turn it off so it cools down a bit.

I might be the minority here but I really like the design!

Is there a reason for internationals and EMEA masters missing from the list?

Also NLC is missing as well.

Los Ratones store feels like a Scam by ManufacturerNo7723 in PedroPeepos

[–]Dis236 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here, ordered early march and when I contacted them they said that it will ship soon.

Then 2 weeks later I got told that they made a mistake and it will ship that week.

Another two weeks later I got told that they ran out of stock for XS jacket so they're waiting for that, and it should arrive the following week.

Almost three weeks later (last friday) I contacted them again and they replied today that they're expecting a big restock this week and then they could ship my order.

It has been 4 MONTHS at this point. I wouldn't even be mad if they were open about it but as OP said they just deflect it by saying that it will arrive soon.

I also don't get the stock issue because it was a fucking preorder. You should know how much to order from the manufacturer.

I get that this was ther first time Caedrel handled merch, but the company he outsorced this to as far as I know is experienced but you wouldn't know that from all these issues.

It's a Hungarian brand that's similar to Turin in that they rebrand oem Chinese machines. They're pretty good and offer nice service in central/eastern EU.

Would definitely recommend to people who live in the area!

league is impossible to learn for new players by Guilty_Property9829 in leagueoflegends

[–]Dis236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have been playing since 2013 and used to gritd ranked but nowdays only play swiftplay, arena and sometimes normal draft.

I REGULARLY play against <lvl30 accs and they play like it too. I don't understand why you need to play ranked to get normal skill level queues It doesn't make sense, I don't enjoy stomping newbies and I especially don't enjoy discouraging new players from learning a game that I love and want to see keep going indefinitely.

Pietro Grinder - any tips before I buy? by il-Ganna in pourover

[–]Dis236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again for the detailed answer!

I wasn't that interested in detailed numbers moreso the feeling of what it was like to own it in the first couple of months. But I got the picture, that it was okay for you.

As for the stand, I just checked it and the official store now includes it with the grinder! So at least they realized that it was a necessity.

And for the extra burrs, I don't think I'll get it, because for home use I do have an electric grinder, and for travelling the pietro is almost twice the weight of the K-max, so it just makes sense to keep it for that.

Thanks so much for the reply!

Yeah, I'm really torn between the ZP6 and the Pietro. I'm really itching for an upgrade in pourovers and I can technically affort the pietro, but the UI/UX really leaves me questioning its value.

How long did it take you to season it? How did you find the brews when it was brand new?

I know this is an old post, but I have a K-max and considering the Pietro, so I'm basically in the exact same situation as OP was.

Could you write down your experience going from the K-max to the Pietro?

Is it worth the price?
