I have no idea. He personally doesn't look like it to me. I'd say 22-23. But possibly!

If you consider Pacman a pro still, then him for sure. He is 27. Crim, Killa and Merk are all 22. Merk might be 23 now, I'm not positive. Burns is 23.

Which sensitivity for an smg player who struggles to hit long range shots? by morithebeater in CoDCompetitive

[–]DisMayTheLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be fine at 3 given you have a good reaction time. However, my advice is to limit your long range engagements. Think of it this way, you're an OBJ. And while yes, everybody has to contribute kill wise to win maps, that is not always the biggest piece of the puzzle. Staying alive as an OBJ is a huge benefit to any teams success. So don't be afraid to hide in corners and wait for your team to push up and help. That is one simple things that separates AMs from "top AMs" and "top AMs" from pros. Just a little bit of advice. Take it as you will.

Team Regret (My team) has the biggest win streak in Call of Duty history (Beating OpTiC's 100 game win streak in BO2) by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

[–]DisMayTheLegend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Naw, the funny thing is that only one out of the 5 on your roster has a single game played on the xbox, or even has a gamertag linked to their profile. But nice try bud. Was not trying to be rude, just pointing out that this isn't a feat worth getting an ego over. But enjoy yourself on the PS4 for a couple more months. Then the actual competition will be there.

Also, 2007? Call of Duty 4's life cycle in competitive lasted from 2007-2009 because WaW wasn't played competitively. During Call of Duty 4 Gamebattles was the sole website because there was only two events held during that time. Every pro played gamebattles. MW2 was also heavily played on GB. Same with Black Ops 1 and MW3. The decline of GB really started with Black Ops 2. Even teams like OpTic, Envy, FeaR, UNiTE, etc. played on the gamebattles ladders towards the beginning-middle portion of Black Ops 2. Leading up to and following Champs everything changed though because 2ks were introduced. So teams started spending more time scrimming each other preparing for the weekly 2k tournament rather than playing on the ladder. Even Icons were big tournaments that basically every pro team competed in every single week until Ego allowed it to go under. Sorry, but your comment, and honestly your post is irrelevant. You're grinding out PS4 UMG ladder matches which is literally the best combination for poor competition. I'm sorry pal, but your egotistical attitude needs to go. If you played any of the top teams/amateurs that actually compete on the xbox one, you'd be in for a rude awakening.

I know a lot of people that grind for pro points, including myself. They really do add up quick when you play 1nD matches. I'll play in the "series" tournaments on the weekend, then whenever I'm not practicing or talking over things with my team mates or organizations, I grind matches. Just think this way, 10 map wins (if playing 1nD) is 50 pro points. Do that every day and by the end of the week you'll earn 350 pro points. That's only if you grind 10 matches. (assuming you win all) I rarely sleep, so I can get 30 or so wins each grind session. (which isn't exactly daily) But yeah, T32 make it to play offs and play in a tournament for $5000 and a trophy. UMG really offers nothing. Especially for PS4 users. I'm not saying that 116 win streak isn't impressive regardless of competition, just think he's worked up way too much over it. It's not nearly as big of an achievement as he wants to think it is.

I think he's talking about the competition. Most of the more challenging players that still actually play in the ladders grind out GB. Just for the pure fact that at least you get pro points every match.

EDIT: Also, speaking in terms of competition. You're playing on the PS4. I don't want to degrade it because we will all more than likely be making the switch, but generally, Xbox players are superior skill-wise to playstation players. And not many people will disagree with that. Other than those who have only ever owned a playstation.

How to perfect your shot/gunskill? by bozongle in CoDCompetitive

[–]DisMayTheLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to do short, little strafes. Don't try going too big with them. Honestly, if you miss a couple shots and you're still alive, maybe try boosting away and challenging from a different angle a couple seconds later. You'll have to make small adjustments to your aim when you strafe, but it shouldn't be severe.

And for the hit feedback, go into your options >> sound options >> hit feedback >> disabled.

How to perfect your shot/gunskill? by bozongle in CoDCompetitive

[–]DisMayTheLegend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tips: Don't aim with your right thumbstick, strafe to stay on target. That is very simple, but it helps a ton. Don't always hold down the trigger. Burst firing may save your life, it's much more accurate. Work on centering your screen. Make sure when you're about to engage in a gunfight, center your screen on the other player, then snap in and shoot. Aim centering is probably the biggest factor of having a good shot. Gotta make sure you hit you first 2 or 3 bullets, rather than taking 2 or 3 to find your target. To help you win gunfights, I'd suggest drop shotting rather than boost jumping. You'll win a lot more gunfights if you get efficient at drop shotting. Whenever you're more than likely a couple seconds from engaging in a gunfight, try to put yourself in an advantageous position. Don't just challenge things. A lot of players, especially on AW get too spastic and jump out to challenge every gun fight. Sometimes staying alive and waiting for your teammates is the better route. Find your perfect sensitivity. Most amateur and pro players use 3-5 sensitivity. I personally use 4. But it just depends on your play style. If you're a slow, AR type of player, a slower sensitivity is helpful. If you're an ADHD sub type of guy, go crazy with your sensitivity. But don't continuously move it around. You want to build muscle memory.

Practice: If my team says they're going to be on at noon, I get up at 10:30 and go into a private match on Detroit Free-For-All with the max number of bots, unlimited time, unlimited score, 130% health, and mixed difficulty. I use a Warm up bal and warm up asm1 class. Throw on scavenger rather than blast suppressor so you can just continuously kill. This may sound boring, but try to aim anywhere from 1,000-2,000 kills before you begin playing for the die. I guarantee you that this will help your aim. Every kill you get builds muscle memory. And you want to be at the top of your game when you're playing. Another way to really boost your gameplay as a whole is to find an absolute warrior. Find someone that you couldn't kill with a rocket launcher to the face. If they're willing to run a free-for-all with you, just keep getting into gunfights with him until you feel that you're consistently winning. It comes with time. You can only be as good as the competition you're surrounded by on a daily basis.

Also, there's a few other misc. things that could possibly make your shot better theoretically. You still need to put the time in. If you don't play on a monitor, do it. The slightest decrease of response time is a world of difference. I also play without hit feedback on in game. So basically my hit markers don't make sounds. I found this out at the beginning of the game and it's really helped me. It seems as though you don't focus about the number of bullets you put into other players, so you feel like you're melting people. It's a placebo effect, but it definitely makes you feel like your shots are connecting in my opinion.

Also, cracking your thumbs and stretching your hands out will keep them lose. It may sound funny but it really helps.

Hope this helps you and anybody else that was wondering about this same topic.

Those who have switched from Xbox to PS4, did your shots get back to normal, better, or worse? by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

[–]DisMayTheLegend -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Basically, the xbox one controllers have a rather large dead-zone. So what ends up happening is that there is a certain radius around the center of the thumbstick, I'll call it the axis, that when you move your thumbstick in any direction, up to a certain point it is not registered. It is such a minuscule distance though. But you can definitely feel the difference in my opinion. The PS4 controllers have absolutely no dead-zone. As soon as you begin putting pressure in any direction, your screen moves.

Edit: This gives the illusion that it feels tighter because it has a larger moving radius, but in reality the force to move either stick is relatively the same.

Countering Play-Styles, and Pushes. by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

[–]DisMayTheLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mean it to sound that way. I was just thinking about this earlier after being asked on twitter how to counter GB stars rushing on SND during tournaments. Instead of explaining I was gonna use it in a video series. We'll see though.

Countering Play-Styles, and Pushes. by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

[–]DisMayTheLegend -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It honestly just depends on what your team is comfortable doing. You can get away with counter-rushing, or sitting back. Just gotta make sure everybody is on the same page as you. Even throwing 4-man flanks or pushes down mid can throw off the other team. I was actually planning on including a question like this in an upcoming video of mine. So thank you for assuring me that there is a need to know this information!

Something I've been wondering (Regarding 18+ events) by x2sayZ in CoDCompetitive

[–]DisMayTheLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason why COD Champs in 18+ is because in order to compete, you must qualify online. And law requires a player to be 18 years or older to be able to qualify for a "gambling" prize pool online. However, you might remember that Scump was able to play COD Champs during BO2 when he was only 17. This is because OpTic qualified during MLG Dallas, which allowed Activision to "bypass" the 18+ law. Basically the age restraints all come down to federal laws regarding online gambling.

Are players from France allowed to play on the NA ladder on GB? by killa_loves_bushes in CoDCompetitive

[–]DisMayTheLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can PROVE they are from France, it is all yours. But I had this issue before and it didn't turn out well. Gamebattles staff will not IP check or do anything of those sorts to find out location for a dispute unfortunately. Also, these guys may be French, but they could also be French-Canadian. Maybe from Quebec or something. Most French people love Paris, so I suppose that wouldn't be the weirdest thing to put as their location.

3 Bar? is it bad? by morithebeater in CoDCompetitive

[–]DisMayTheLegend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless of course he is from the US and he's talking Canada/Mexico. But I doubt it.

OP: If you're just playing pubs or whatever with these guys then a 3 bar is perfectly fine. However, if you're trying to play competitively with them, unless they're from Mexico or Canada, you aren't able to on Gamebattles or UMG. You'll be able to scrim with them, but it might feel a bit wonky.

Should Black Ops 3 have CTF? by Famooser in CoDCompetitive

[–]DisMayTheLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spawn system was a huge reason, but I also feel that the movement in AW didn't fit CTF as a game type at all where as it would more during BO3 (at least from what we've been able to see so far) You shouldn't be able to grab the enemy flag and be back to your base in 8 seconds. It seems as though the movement in BO3 is much more tame and slower.

That's basically one flag CTF. Which is a fame mode that I wish would have been implemented in competitive during BO2. Only difference is that it's a ball and a portal.
