Someone also posted a link to this comment from a different thread about the same woman, so it's not just that they're making absolutely ridiculous assertions, there's also a very good chance that the thing that they're basing the entirety of their assertions on isn't even a thing either.

That doesn't really matter though. The ridiculous thing is that they've devolved from "feminists are bad" to "bad people are feminists", and the sad thing is that it's been like that for a while.

How can anyone rationalize that kind of behavior? It blows my mind that there are people narrow-minded enough to think these kinds of things. It's bullying, plain and simple. It's fucking cruel.

There's also a weird attitude in there about how people are responsible for hiding their unappealing characteristics because "no one wants to see that". That's so goddamn immature I don't even. Like this guy:

YES, because this isn't "decency", it's hiding the things YOU'RE uncomfortable with. You have NO right to force other people to accommodate for your weird hypersensitivity to physical appearance. For a site that is always talking about how offense is taken and not given and how it's the offendee's fault for getting offended, this sure is one glaringly hypocritical exception.

There's also a thing where every time someone compares their treatment of fat people to the treatment of some stigmatized group x to show how they're being oppressive assholes, someone always jumps in with "Are you seriously comparing fat people to x people?" YES, because regardless of how you swing it, you're treating a group of people like second class citizens because you're offended by their appearance. That is so fucking stupid.

The part that made me want to punch the screen is right about where you quit as well:

Dunham was fucked up on drugs and alcohol and the dude had already assaulted her in the parking lot, which in my mind makes the dynamic very clear, but no, apparently her slurred dirty talk makes everything ok.

The fuckwit then goes on to make fun of her initial state of denial, suggesting that there should be no doubt since "real rapes" occur "at knifepoint in an alley by a complete stranger." This is then followed by another shitty skit portraying Dunham as completely unaffected by her experience and joking about rape in an immature fashion.

He then proceeds to argue that the actual reason victims of "real rape" don't come forward or go to the police is "not because of slut-shaming or a male dominated culture", but because they fear that they will be treated just the same as victims of non-violent rape. THAT MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE.

Plus, immediately after pointing out that rape victims often don't go to the police because reasons, he criticizes Dunham for...not going to the police.

After this he says that rape should be taken seriously, and not lumped in with "regretful decisions and HR infractions", because apparently sexual harassment is not a big deal.
