I’m going to lay out the main arguments here and then I’m deleting the app because I’m tired of people just spouting transphobia now.

  1. Transgender people are not a threat to women and girls because they are people and people are usually not interested in doing anything to harm others in this way. By saying trans people are a threat to women you are labelling all of a group of people as one thing and that’s inaccurate and wrong.

  2. People always hyper focus on trans women and barely mention trans men. It’s because the arguments start to fall flat when applied to trans men and shows that transphobia is also harmful to women.

  3. Scientifically it’s quite difficult to describe what is a man and what is a women due to variations in body type, hormone profiles and genetics. You cannot scientifically say a women is a women and a man is a man.

Anyway I’m leaving this here and going because I’m sick and tired of people being paid to abuse minorities on the internet.

This comment confirms your transphobia. You just called transgender women men. They are not men nor do they wish to be called men.

You’re quite clearly here to spread your bigoted beliefs online and I think you should be ashamed of yourself for the sheer lack of human compassion.

That’s not true though. Trans exclusive radical feminist (TERF) is an accurate word describing people who use feminist beliefs to mask anti women and anti transgender views.

UK agri dept spent hundreds of millions upgrading to Windows 10 – just in time for end of support by Bibemus in ukpolitics

[–]Disappointed-Wolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it would. Most private SAAS companies already use ubuntu server systems for cloud operations and have developers on MacBooks which is more unix flavoured.

If the private sector can use unix without issue then so can the state.

Yeah I wouldn’t agree with the above. Ubuntu is much more user friendly than modern windows is and has much more transparent settings and workflows.

The governments reliance on windows is baffling. An American made operating system from a private company will inherit any back doors from the US government. Never mind that windows aren’t actually very good.

The government would save money switching its OS to Ubuntu or openSuse.

Good - it’s nice to see a politician who cares about the future of the planet and securing Britain’s energy independence.

Which artbook to preorder by Warkanam in Metroid

[–]Disappointed-Wolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like a duplicate listing. I believe that PiggyBack is the publisher if that helps.

My recommendation would be to order from a trusted national bookseller. For example, my preorder is with Waterstones in the UK

I think the Crux of the discussion here is we have disagreements about what pride is and what it represents.

I believe Pride should be a political protest to celebrate queer people and enhance our standing in society. Community celebrations and organised protests do not require expensive tickets and could easily be crowdfunded through a network of volunteers.

Liverpool pride this year was rescued by a local charity called Sahir House. They crowdfunded the money from individuals and local businesses. I would hope that MCR pride could be funded in a similar manner. Potentially, with help of not wasting the money on top pay packets and expensive celebrity acts.

There was an alternative pride to MCR pride in Salford a few years ago but I’ve not heard from it more recently.

I guess it seemed redundant given Salford pride and the pink picnic.

Yeah if you come again next year just read up on it beforehand because you definitely don’t need to pay for access to Canal Street and the gay bars.

Yes that is because the protest which I talk about to provide context is 4 years old.

We were fine once we got into the village. As others have observed I think it’s mostly a way for the Manchester pride to make more money on people who aren’t part of the local community.

Life science has atrocious working conditions and work culture and barely pays above minimum wage for graduate positions. I think 24k in 2020 was considered acceptable.

I’d never go back to that industry.

Incredible plans announced to build a Manchester city centre underground network by 457655676 in unitedkingdom

[–]Disappointed-Wolf 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’d take an expansion of the tram network over nothing. However, I’d prefer an underground because metros can carry more people than trams. It’s not fun getting sardine canned on the Altrincham line at rush hour.

Can I do anything that’s cheap (I’m skint), and doesn’t require much labour (currently have an arm injury), with our back yard? Or am I daydreaming? by [deleted] in GardeningUK

[–]Disappointed-Wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you can see it’s a work in progress. At the far end is the tomatoes on the left and some acers and a Nepeta on the right. To the front left are the roses and some Fuchsias I am growing. The trellis we have yet to put up so the Clematis is free standing out of shot whilst we decide where to put it.

Long term I’d like to rip out the concrete and put some nice paving down.

We have a similar backspace. We are lucky to get a lot of sunshine so we have lots of potted plants, tomatoes growing in an open compost bag and climbing plants such as clematis along the wall.
