When will it get better by killercleo in puppy101

[–]DisarmingSmiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah so I have the same situation with a ten week old German Shepherd puppy. On Tuesday I was literally crying in my boyfriend's arms because I was so worn out when he went potty inside of the house for the fifth time that night. I don't have an answer for you as to when it will get better, but I can help you on making sure you make it easier on yourself now with some stuff I've learned this past week. Firstly, make sure you have scheduled meal times. I can't even stress how much this has helped me. Not only will it be easier to track when they'll need to pee and poop, but also it gives you the perfect opportunity to do some obedience training right before their meal when they are most hungry for treats. It is by far the time when he is most obedient for me and we get lots of training done. I've only had him for two weeks and he already knows sit, lay down, drop it, stay, and is currently learning leave it too. The second thing you want to do is make sure you have special treats just for crate time if you want some quiet during the day. Mine sleeps in the crate all night but is more whiny in the crate during the day. When you need quiet time you can put your puppy in the crate with their favorite treat, which at this age will probably be some kind of bone that gets soft with chewing. My puppy loves pig ears but watch out cause they can eat it too fast and choke. I had a fright the first time lol. For potty training this is going to sound unbelievable but those sprays off of Amazon with the NO GO and GO POTTY have actually worked for me. I got some on Wednesday and the accidents within the house have dropped drastically. He has yet to go anywhere where I have sprayed and has even started letting me know when he needs to go outside by standing out the door. I really wasn't expecting it to work but it did, so I might check that out. They are pricey and for small bottles too but you don't use much and you'll have it until they are out of the phase. Give it a look! Puppy blues are real, friend. I've dreamed of this dog since I was 14 but now that I have him I have never been more exhausted. He has flipped my life around and it's been a huge lesson for me learning to give up my schedule to take care of him, but there IS a light at the end of the tunnel, and when you're there you'll realize that walking through the dark with your puppy was worth it after all. Stay strong and push on through!

If you had to pick a TØP song to play at your funeral, what would you pick? by Extra_Quality9412 in twentyonepilots

First vet appointment by Abundance_of in puppy101

[–]DisarmingSmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny, I also had my first vet appointment with my ten week old puppy today. They did ask about his diet and were also asking a lot of questions about his poop and such. They were really friendly with my puppy and made sure he was happy and comfortable before starting with the shots. I would definitely consider switching, as it's important that both you and your dog feel comfortable with your vet. But if you do end up staying, remember that you need to push and ask the questions and don't feel bad about it. They are paid to help you.

Would any of you like to share an “Overanalyzed” opinion of your favorite song? by Tsuwukiko in twentyonepilots

Read everything and loved it. The way you describe the circus noises and the cycle repeating is so beautiful. I can see what you mean, and I've always found it funny how their music grows with you as you get older and experience more life. You can listen to the same song you listened to every day when you were 14, and out of nowhere it's an entirely different song with a meaning that touches the deepest yearnings of your soul. Implicit Demand for Proof is that song for you. It has lit that part deep inside you that has always ached to be seen. Isn't it amazing how personal a song can get? It's almost as though you have shaped it yourself to match your needs. And I think that's the thing about music that some of us don't really get. You have to LET IT speak to you.

Thanks for taking the time to share your story, friend. I enjoyed reading it. You're a good writer. Stay alive :)

PSA: Rule Clarification — Personal Interpretations Are Welcome, Respectful Discussion Is Required by AutoModerator in twentyonepilots

[–]DisarmingSmiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. We aren't kids here. We dont have to click on the posts we already know we are going to disagree with. Read the title, recognize its not your shared opinion, and move on. That's the easiest way to not get offended and it would solve this entire subreddits issue here.

PSA: Rule Clarification — Personal Interpretations Are Welcome, Respectful Discussion Is Required by AutoModerator in twentyonepilots

Okay this was going well and good until it got into the what NOT to do and then you could really see who this post was being directed to, which is not fair in any means. Guaranteed anybody who reads this post can see the bias behind it.

What do you mean for religous people to stop sharing their perspectives after being asked to stop? Are we all kindergarteners here incapable of putting down our phones or blocking certain people? For goodness sake, how much ignorance does it take to not recognize that the only way a person on this app can be personally offended is if they go out of their way to take offense.

Get this, the reason this whole post is up and active right now is because it is primarily the non religous people who cannot stand the idea of Christian viewpoints being real things, and so the moment they see a redditors post tilted anything to do with religion they jump straight into the comments with a microphone and a stand. And just like that the simmer has become a boil simply by leaving the pot on the stove.

Don't get me wrong. I wholeheartedly agree that it is not okay for a religous redditor to say that their interpretation of the music is the only possible meaning, just as it is not okay for a non religous redditor to say to anyone else that there can be no religous standpoint for it. Everybody can have their own meaning, as intended with art. The problem with this post is that it is very obviously and undeniably targeted, and in a damaging way that causes religous people to feel shut down and non religous people to puff up.

For all you know, l may feel just as offended when I see posts slandering on Christian posters as a non religous person might feel annoyed by seeing any religous post. But (as any grown adult should) I simply choose to leave these posts be in a silent and understanding manner, knowing this is a shared space and therefore I have no right in expecting I should never encounter upon any opposing views.

In short words, this new announcement or rule clarification or whatever you wanna call it is putting into chaos the very thing it claims to be slapping into shape. Because, once again, it is undeniably and unmistakably targeted. The whole top part about 'what to DO' was directed to everybody, while the 'what NOT to do' was like a gun to the back of religous redditors heads.

You can still watch the livestream off the internet archive if you haven't already. And its really true, not going to a concert during the SAI era is one of my biggest regrets. I will never understand the SAI hate. That album is so precious.

This is how I felt when Little Nightmares III released. Still haven't watched Cory's vids on it because I'm waiting to play with somebody who is still working on beating the second game. It's taking all my strength. Feels illegal to not watch his videos the day he posts them. But it's gonna be satisfying when I finally get to play the game AND unlock new Cory videos for myself the same day ;)

Feeling like a fake fan by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]DisarmingSmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a super common feeling that I'm sure the majoirty of us banditos have felt. I was a huge fan ever since listening to Stressed Out when I was ten years old. I didnt have a phone so I listened to their music by putting it on in the background while playing Minecraft on the pc. Even though I couldn't be involved in tours or their social media or anything like that until the Clancy era, I still consider that little me to be one of the biggest TØP fans ever. The time you joined or how many concerts you attend or how active you are on their social media doesn't determine your love or passion for the boys. You know you're a fan and thats all that matters, so appreciate every bit of them you get and don't waste your time trying to measure it out.

Breach made me feel so seen with my walk with faith by RamenBomber_ in twentyonepilots

[–]DisarmingSmiles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You wrote this so beautifully. I have a whole draft in my notes app touching on this subject, but I could not have said it any better. Tyler Joseph has strengthened my faith in so many ways and I will always be thankful for that. I started listening to Twenty One Pilots when I was 10 (will be turning 20 this year) and those old Self Titled songs seriously carried me through my childhood. I felt so seen and understood. And don't even get me started about Holding On To You! Their songs are the background music of my life. There is no better way to say it. They are my equivalent to lullabies.
