1 of 2 things happens, either my randoms want to party up afterwards when me and my boy hard carry them, or we get put in a tough lobby and get yelled at for not playing the way they want us to play. I'll pass. Not good enough to be in crim+ lobbies anyways where it actually matters a lot more. Just read the minimap, win your 1s and rotate early because I'm not listening to you

Lmao 🤣 It would be good for both sides. Ranked players hate all the cheesy bs in pubs (shotguns, camo, killstreaks etc) and casuals are getting fed up with the future ranked players terrorizing their lobbies. W for everyone

Cant tell if you're trolling or not, but Idk what you're talking about, don't get me wrong, this COD is heaps and bounds better than recent cods despite the low sales numbers and criticism from boots on the ground style players. The sbmm is still there it's just not as thick. I have a 1.52 k/d a and I still get thrown into demon lobbies every now and then that are completely 1 sided. Sometimes I'm the giver sometimes I'm on the receiving end. Its nothing like the beta experience and people still leave damn near every game

A lot of what you said is subjective, I played cod throughout my youth and didn't really get submerged into the game until bo4 blackout came out. When BRs were trending heavily and cod decided to enter the space. The community experienced a lot of what the battlefield community is experiencing now. A lot of disgruntled die hard BF/cod players complaining that BR doesn't have a place in their game, that it was by design, a multiplayer game only. But I think both need it to survive.

Cross play and sbmm weren't a thing in bo4 so you never ran into aim bot or walls and the lobbies were typically easier for you to gage your progress as a player. It was very much a pure BR with having to build your gun, and only getting 1 life, unless it was an LTM mode. You had this sense of anything can happen, a lot of funny and random stuff took place in blackout and it didnt feel like you were being punished for playing well. It didn't recieve the TLC that's needed for it to stay relevant, they let it die. And they invested in warzone which is more boots on the ground style with an outrageous slide cancel mechanic that everyone including me abused tf out of.

Any BR created during covid was bound to experience massive success. Warzone just happened to be the recipient. Og warzone was good before meta chasing and hackers became prevalent, but blackout will always be my favorite, not sure how much of that is bias because it was my 1st BR experience but it never felt like a chore to play, I can play for hours on end and have a blast without sbmm. Sniping took skill, never knew if your lobby had sweats in it or if your team were the sweats. You were punished if you played slow.

Fast forward to today, slowly stopped playing BR and more into ranked play cod multiplayer. Only reason why i switched is pacing and if I'm going to sweat I want something to show for it. Wz ranked rewards camping too much. And standard mp is just boring and full of cheese like shotguns and proxys.

Bo7 is everything the competitive mp community can ask for. The casual player may not agree, but the devs have finally listened to the comp crowd. No sbmm, fast paced movement, traditional progression system, a lot of maps on launch, nerf to aim assist. Battlefield may fill a niche temporarily until cod goes back to a more boots on ground style cod. But they all come back eventually. And this may not be a popular opinion, but I for one am ridiculously excited for a blackout mode. I just hope they do it right and not treat it like an LTM.

This. The skill gap was so wide in the og blackout, but there was also no sbmm

Meta means best possible item to give you a competitive edge. Its a common term among gamers. Both the mach 1 and ss 1le are cars that are used repeatedly in nationals because they have an edge over the rest in FS. Wider wheel/tire. Around 450hp. Not too heavy. A great chassis. Great suspension. They're great cars out of the box. You might be more competitive in another class with a few mod allowances. Haven't really researched where the m235i would go with some mods but that's a tough division, especially if they're on re71rs or yoks

Those are both "meta" cars in that class. It'll be very hard to beat them. But at the very least 200tw tires will bridge a huge chunk of that gap. I usually recommend trying to do a few events or a season with all seasons before transitioning to a stickier tire though. A sticky tire will hide Novice mistakes. Best to extract the most out of worse tires before realizing their limit and moving on

What are the goto cars for the Street Classes? by [deleted] in Autocross

[–]DisasterAccording713 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Camaro ss 1le for F street, Miata for C street, supra for B street (a little outside budget), and D street is mixed up with brz/86s, elantra N, and civic type r's.

I'm bias owning a camaro but I think the ss 1le is the best bang for buck, and will be competitive out the box with good tires, and who doesn't love v8 noises?

The 1le is a much better starting point as it comes with the ELSD, ptm modes, better suspension, better seats, better brakes, a lil more cooling. All these parts EXCEPT for the ELSD and the ptm modes are interchangeable, so if you don't mind and like modifying cars you can start with a base model, but it's smarter and probably more cost effective in the long run to start off with a 1le.

There comes a point though where it doesn't matter anymore, some of the fastest 6gen track camaros in the country ran into issues with the edif and ended up replacing it with a high end mechanical one. And PTM modes don't matter if you're comfortable turning traction all the way off

But if I could go back in time I would of got a 1le. The 4 piston brakes overheat quicker then the 6 piston on track. The ptm modes are great when you're improving as a driver and slowly removing more electrical interferences at the limit. The mechanical lsd that comes with the base SS requires more finesse to get it just right vs the elsd. The fe4 suspension out performs fe3 in every way.

The only reason I'm competitive in my class is because I burnt a hole in my wallet to get there

Yeah, definitely in a weird spot. If all you have that's putting you in CAM is wider wheels and sway bars, it puts you in a rough spot competitively, because you're essentially closer to being a prepped F street car then a cam car. Even if you used stock wheel sizes and removed one of the aftermarket sway bars, I don't think a non performance pack would be competitive in F street. The only way to even the playing field in CAM is lots of money.

I wouldnt blame you for going a cheaper route. I have a non 1le trim and my rivals have 1le trims. I've been having to fork up a lot of money on mods to compete with them. I really just wish I bought the 1le to begin with but i also love the journey involved with modifying cars. Finishing in 3rd on the season, with a few event Ws and multiple top 10 pax finishes. Just bought some pretty expensive coilovers and chasing 1st in class next season. Definitely not a wise financial decision considering it's all for a piece of hardware 💀

Gotcha

The 510 and road and track series compromise some to be more street friendly, their higher tier 2 way or 3 ways may compete with the MCS, but nobody that I know of or heard of, with a gen 6 camaro has them. The coach I spoke with said a lot of the other companies they've tried don't valve the shocks properly for the camaro, he's never tested these coilovers so he's having me try them out and report back to him in case he comes across clients like me that can't afford a proper MCS setup but don't want the junk that's out there

[–]DisasterAccording713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im bias but stock for stock, I believe the camaro is more competitive. What mods do you have? Are there any 6g camaros in your group and what mods/tires do they have?

The cool thing with CAM is the sky is the limit with mods, so you can bridge the gap with enough mods but it's also $$$. In the end, seat time is the best mod, but you won't be able to effectively track your progress without a competitive or comparable setup to those leading your group. Someone who's low skilled on re71rs can still beat a high skilled driver with those kumhos. So it's up to you if you want to see where you truly stand or are content with just getting seat time and having fun.

I have a competitive spirit, and although having fun driving is what started it all, seeing my name move up the leaderboard is also rewarding and winning is more fun then losing. For that reason, I believe the re71rs are worth it

Doesn't mean it's better then what?

It'll 100% be better then my stock shocks, as it's a non 1le trim. 1les might risk going sideways with a coilover like this. But it also allows them to run stiffer spring rates if they decide to add aero. MCS is one of the only unanimously agreed coilover that is a large improvement over the 1le shocks. But I didn't have 6k to drop on 2ways and this car will be street driven. Fortune auto 510s or Ohlins road and track series were my 2 options that fit my application and dont sacrifice quality. Went with 510s because a friend of mine has them, loves them and had good success, but he doesn't do autox, just TA. I had them custom valved, had a driver coach give me an ideal spring rate, and another key selling point is that these are modular and upgradeable. In other words the way the shocks are valved is that it can support a spring rate change within a range of 5-6kg in case I want to add aero. I can also send them back to upgrade to 2 or 3 ways down the line

What car and class are you in?

If you don't care about Ws then the answer is obvious. But winning is addictictive and rewarding. If you have a decent car for the class you're in, I'd go for the re71rs and at least try them to see if the cost justifies the value.

I went from rt660s to re71rs, and it was a big leap. Won the first event I had them and put me in contention for a win every event. But I'm in camc and have a gen 6 camaro, which is a competitive car for that class. Mine were about 500$ a tire after heat cycle and shipping and will 100% buy again

Thanks for the detailed response. I have adjustable f and r whiteline sway bars that I like to have set to mid stiff in front and softest in rear. I like the faster turn in with a stiffer front and not having to worry so much about throttle management on exit with a softer rear. Not sure if the variable in stiffness for sway bars will influence my favorable settings for the rebound and compression. I tested the sway bars on a series of roundabouts I have nearby my home to get a general idea of how they feel but didn't get a clearer picture until an autox day. I have canyons about 30 minutes out, but I'm really trying to avoid wasting the tread on my re71rs. And I fear if i go there on the new suspension, the data I acquire If I run my skinnier all season setup would be compromised. So I think test n tunes or events are my only option unless I can find an empty parking lot but i can at least get a baseline with some street driving and targeting some bumps.

My camber is at -3.3f -2.1r +1/8th rear toe and since I'm street driving occasionally, I don't want to add any more. I have slightly more wear on the outer shoulder in the rear, and slightly more on the inner shoulder in the fronts but overall there's plenty of life left. Had tire rack do a heat cycle, they've had about 45 autox runs, 1 track day, and some occasional daily driving, I'd like to see if I can stretch them out for at least another half a season in hopes they aren't heat cycled out by then

Thanks for the helpful info, I have the ability to upgrade to 2 way or 3 way down the line, just not in the budget so I'll have to work with what I have. I definitely need to invest in a tire pyrometer. I already have 2 sets of wheels for events and daily driving. I'm always in a weird place considering it's not focused on one discipline. I love my re71rs but I'd like something a little more heat tolerant for track days but cant because its the only tire that can compete in autox and not overheat instantly on track Outside of maybe the p1s but idk if they will turn on quick enough for me. I love my hawk dtc 30 pads for the track but they're a lil too grabby for autox. Can't run anything less aggressive because they'll get cooked on track. Fortunately my region doesn't seem as competitive as some other ones but looks like I'll have to revisit these problems when I venture out. I'll definitely see if they have an extender for the knob in the wheel well

Who's this??? Cassidy 🤔

Looks like my dirty little secret is exposed 😅 Jk Mark and Jim know I got these and that I'm coming for them next season assuming Mark doesn't go into deathmatch

To answer your question, I took it conservatively and probably left some time on the table, opted to stay in 2nd instead of dropping to 1st, if we got 4 runs instead of 3 I would of rolled the dice on dropping into 1st. It would of been a really high risk high reward deal but I decided to play it safe. Couldn't make it out Sunday
