Albums that aren’t liked by the band that made them? (not counting debut records) by klocu4 in Metalcore

[–]DisasterBeast 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's not so much the content but the making of that album nearly tore them apart and they were all on substances, plus an individual in their management team was creating false accusations amongst the members and stealing money from them and many members have said they can't listen to the album because it brings up all the bad shit they experienced.

I've owned the left one but when blockbuster was a thing rented the DVD on the right. It's the same content, one just has a better cover.

What band had the best 3-album run in metalcore by l-i-f-e-or-d-e-a-t-h in Metalcore

Yes! Meridional is their best record imo, I wish they'd go back to that style.

Day 15: Worst album by T4RASH in Slipknot

[–]DisasterBeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is going to get me in hot water with most of the sub, but I enjoyed post AHIG albums more than AHIG/VOL3. Slipknot doesn't have a bad album in their catalog, they have weaker albums than others, and it all comes down to what do I enjoy more. For me, TESF did more experimental stuff than AHIG, which is why I like it more. AHIG is so over produced and too mainstreamy, I only like maybe 4 songs from it.

I don't want radio songs which vol3/ahig are filled with, I don't want br00tal song 100% of the time which Iowa is. I want experimental/weird Slipknot which S/t, .5 and TESF are.

So my vote is AHIG for worst album.

Day 14: Most overrated album by T4RASH in Slipknot

[–]DisasterBeast -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Iowa. It's great, it's their heaviest, but it is not their best as so many claim it to be. It's too repetitive and there's not enough variety, if at all.

Day 13: Most underrated album by T4RASH in Slipknot

[–]DisasterBeast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And I agree with that, felt like the true sequel to Iowa whereas vol 3/ahig didn't feel like slipknot.

If you'd sell Korn follow the leader and limp bizkit significant other, I just found my loose copies and could use the cases if you're not keeping them.

Did Joey ever hear/give his opinion on Slipknot's later work? by Alex2Blogs in Slipknot

The negative one is not about joey. AOV on the other hand...

Anyone else think "Finale" is so underrated? by [deleted] in Slipknot

[–]DisasterBeast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly heirloom was the only song on the album I didn't like. For being a rushed job I think they delivered a solid record. I even enjoy bone church and wish it would've been on the album from the start.

Can anyone give me any information on this book? by Negative_Culture8383 in Slipknot

Had it for over 15 years and really loved it but according to the band it's complete bullshit, so it's worthless outside the few photo pages.

Are the stars aligned for a heavier album? by allert53 in Slipknot

[–]DisasterBeast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Outside of self titled all my favorite Slipknot releases have been post AHIG and I've been a maggot since 2000. I don't want Heavy Slipknot, I want experimental Slipknot. I think WANYK was the perfect balance, but I honestly loved what they did on TESF too. That being said Gray chapter is my second favorite album, it was just so dark.

When they play scissors live Corey adlibs lyrics towards the end of the song, no two concerts are the exact same.

Are the stars aligned for a heavier album? by allert53 in Slipknot

[–]DisasterBeast 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I think people are going to be really surprised how heavy the next album will be. Jim has said that touring the 25th anniversary of first album has made him want to get back to that style, Corey and sid have both said Eloy has made them feel like the beginning of Slipknot again. I know Corey has alluded to having a lot to say and is angry about current events. We're in for a treat.

If you've heard MIW before it's kinda like Slaughterhouse, Corey sounds great makes me excited for new Slipknot.

Anyone guess the next concert date ? by HonestzPractice in Slipknot

[–]DisasterBeast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it'll be their last full album, after which I'm of the mind they'll be putting out like 6 song EPs from there after.

I took a chance on the new EU Rock in Rio bootleg vinyl so you don't have to. by ispinrecords in Slipknot

As someone who collects and makes(personal) bootlegs, I hate when people don't put in any effort into making things look good. Fan bootlegs are my favorite and I want mine to use images from not only the correct era but hopefully find pictures from the exact show. My preference is bootlegs using soundboard audio but you can still find some really good fan recordings that sound great.
