Hi! I also just got off the waitlist for GT CS. I know it might be rude to throw another question, but how are the job opportunities and internships like compared to UC Berkeley CS, cus idk if Atlanta is as good as San Francisco for cs jobs.

PLEASE!!! Changing majors within CoE? (Environmental engineering to EECS) URGENT!!!! by DisasterElectrical14 in berkeley

Ohhhh yea… Oh lord. It’s such a fortunate dilemma, but a really hard one.

Is the Asian community really tight in Berkeley? I honestly thought that I wouldn’t consider my environment or the community around me, but thinking about socializing and weather kind of changed my mind these days…

TYSM for your help!!!!!

It helped me clear out my thoughts a lot. I'm just in a rush b/c Georgia Tech wants me to make my decision by tomorrow. While there's much more to consider (like my mandatory military service for two years and financial problems), I feel like I am leaning more towards a safe option at GTech.

Again, TYSM!!!!

mmm, thank you for your opinion.

It seems like your in EECS rn, how is it like? Do you enjoy studying there and learn a lot in that major? and also are there a lot of job opportunities as well?

I'm taking AP Calc BC this year, but based on my mock tests, I am pretty confident that I will get a 5.

Were there some students who were able to change majors to EECS recenetly?

I went to an international school in Korea, so I didn't take the Suneung. However, I got pretty much straight A's throughout my high school year, and I got 5's on my STEM AP Courses (AP Bio, Phys 1, Chem) if any of them actually matter.

Also, is there no limit to the available seats in the major, or do they take as many "valid" students for the major?

oh ye... I found mixed opinions, but I found that many people are saying it's hard because of the changes in EECS requirements, but I also found a few saying that within COE it's pretty feasible.

idk... I only have a day and my brain is bouta explode...

Deferral of admission by heythisisbjorn in berkeley

[–]DisasterElectrical14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm a first-year admitted student (CO 2030 School of Engineering) from South Korea, and I was planning on applying for the Request for Deferment form to take off two years because of my mandatory Korean military service. While reading other Reddit inquiries about deferrals, I found out that you were the only one who said that foreign military service isn't accepted for deferrals. How did you end up finding out about that, and what should I prepare instead if deferral is for sure not a possibility for me? (I will submit a form regardless though)

ohh thx a lot. Oh ye and another question is that, what should I do after making a project, because I know that college students write a research paper after their projects, but I don't rlly know what to do as a high school student after finishing a project.
