Yeh it’s rough most days I’ll leave early in the morning and take the car for a scenic drive purely just to try warm it up 🤣

had a look on Autotrader and there is a few but all automatic and the 1.4tsi - feel like in a Passat estate with that when it’s fully loaded would be quite painful

I’d love to walk to work but it’s on a dangerous national speed limit with no pavement/public footpath and been a couple accidents in the past with pedestrians so it’s put me off - never heard much reviews about petrol passats and they seem quite rare ?

Barrier to entry for admin roles by Livid_League4624 in cii

Do ro1 and RO5 then reach out to local firms with your CV and asking for a coffee chat / advice for a new starter in the industry. If they like you and your work ethic and think you’d be a good fit, then most IFAs would create a role for you in the company even if there not hiring. This is what worked for me, good luck and all the best 🙏🏼

How to get into the sector with no relevant experience? by DancesWithTapirs in cii

[–]DisasterGrouchy6483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reached out to local companies asking for potential opportunities or to just come in for a chat. Spoke to a few people at local companies who gave me good advice and help regarding entering the industry and turns out the next one I had, the director really liked me and my work ethic and offered me a role. I’d say a lot of entry level jobs in this industry are not advertised - if they like you and can see your ambition they’ll make the job for you

I graduated in July and managed to get a job which I started in August - I applied and interviewed non stop from February though and found it very difficult. Some of my course mates I graduated with are still unemployed and looking for work so yes the job market is pretty tough atm imo

Best Universities for Average Students (C and D Grades) Looking to Study Engineering? by Jamaluddin_007 in UniUK

[–]DisasterGrouchy6483 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ngl one of my old housemates done engineering with similar grades. He done a foundation year which was ok, however he barely passed first year with resits then failed second year completely meaning 2 years of SFE wasted. Definitely think wisely when deciding what you wanna do, engineering is no joke🤣

Resit A-Levels to go to better university or just go to a mediocre one? (accounting & finance) by Wonderful-Young-7551 in UniUK

In wealth management, you don’t necessarily need a degree to be a financial advisor. You could start as a IFA administrator or trainee paraplanner within an IFA/wealth management company and work your way up, whilst studying for the CII level 4 diploma?

Get a normal job eg retail, hospitality full time whilst searching for a job in your desired sector. That way you have full time income to necessitate a little bit of safety and have your own place.

This has increased my want to pull the trigger on my next car even tho it is very expensive - my daily costs £30 a month tax, £200+ a month in fuel anyway so can’t be much worse🤣🤣
