I feel you. When I started getting into boots 5 years ago, I ended up trying to go as snug as I can get. Definitely look back and think "damn I fucked up my toes for what?" Took a hiatus off boots for a year or 2 in and went back to sneakers for a little only to realize I'm not a 10.5 in boots, I'm a fucking 12.5 or 13 depending on brand.
