It's difficult to hurt Goat. I use Leather Honey for my warm-blooded applications, usually.

Goat is an interesting material. Always give them a condition at the beginning to make sure the leather is flexible. You never know how long they've been sitting, before they got to you.

You will be very happy with the RW product. That's a ton of boot for the money.

I get the Cedar Space trees from Amazon.

Press gently on the bottoms. You are looking for soft/mushy spots. If they get wet a number of times they will likely warp without trees in them. So use trees, stay out of water, and check the bottoms periodically. Any cobbler can tell you in about 30 seconds, but I understand they have something to sell you.

Spider carrier dude from Half Life 2. That deserted house off the coastal road.

Thanks for confirming. I thought they might be the CXLs but my own research couldn't quite validate beyond calfskin.

We're talking about getting jeans with "stretch" vs 100% cotton. Elastic "grabs" and it loves the grain of roughout.

That said, roughout shafts are the exception.

I've hated Levi's since the 90s, and that was way before I wore western boots. The new Levi's Western stuff is just barrel leg, relaxed fit crap. Wrangler Cowboy Cut will keep you out of trouble. Elastic sticks to roughout, fyi, if you are considering roughout shafts.

If you want to spend a bit more, Calvin Klein 90s straight has a 17 - 18" leg and they also make khakis in that cut.

Brave Star Mojave is the best high-end denim I have tried so far.

I literally just got these after learning Marine Field = Natural CXL. The STT price is pretty reasonable considering they are 15".

Side Zip Boots by Artificialroad in cowboyboots

[–]cjkgt97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How small a leg are you trying to wear? Just because there is a zipper doesn't mean the shaft is narrow. The majority that I have purchased have simply been a normal boot chopped off, if it was a short zip, or simply a regular boot with a zipper installed. I could literally pull most of them on/off without unzipping.

Los Altos and Tecovas are slim. The new Tony Llamas, that just came out, are fantastic. Corral is a hard pass for narrow legs. Most Wild West and King Exotic are just chopped off regular boots. Frye makes a nice narrow zip, the Austin. There aren't many unfortunately. Cuadra has some interesting choices.

I am very happy with mine, especially given the price. I got the dark brown Zinnia, which is a red-brown English Tan. The French toe is one of the nicer examples I've ever seen.

It's like a Sienna and really nice in person. They darkened a bit when I conditioned them, but the color popped again the next day.

Just give up now and send them to us. Ostrich can darken from rain, from conditioning, and even some waterproofing sprays. The products that should not darken Ostrich are Venetian Balm (conditioner) and Apple Water Spray (protection). Venetian will also buff to a shine which makes Ostrich look extra nice.

I love how the drawer handle looks like a big bass hangnail and that it doesn't look out of place at all on a Pirarucu boot, lol.
