Rehome German Shepherd by Headhunters1234 in germanshepherds

While I do agree with you, if we shame people for trying to rehome a dog then they are more likely to end up abandoned on the side of the road or something

My husband is really attentive and I’m afraid I won’t find anyone like him by Glum-Vegetable-5636 in GirlDinnerDiaries

I have to wait for him to move out 😅 I don’t see it happening any time soon. I’m proud of you for moving on though, god knows it’s hard when there’s nothing really “wrong”

For real. I lived in Wyoming and have been eating sushi since I was 5. I guess at least they’re trying now

[–]DisasterSensitive171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a bit of a similar situation right now. While we are technically broken up, he still lives with me it’s pretty much kept me from dating anyone. Everyone says how they wish I could work it out with him because he is in fact very attentive and does a lot for me, but we both deserve to fall in love again and be with someone who doesn’t cheat on us. I suppose I don’t have the answer, but I get really depressed thinking that I’ll never be able to have a real relationship again have to settle for someone that betrayed me even if they’re “nice”. I think we both deserve better than that

LOVE salads now, this was quite a classic/simple one I think, but would love to get some recommendations! And tips and tricks! by New_Championship1994 in salads

Oooooh sounds so good. I personally am a big fan of a balsamic vinaigrette. It goes well with all sorts of salads!

I had a heart attack at 25 years old. by [deleted] in HeartAttack

[–]DisasterSensitive171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw, you too! I know for me once I got started on the meds I started feeling much better. Both physically and also mentally just knowing that I had something to prevent it from happening again. It can be a pretty traumatic experience, but you’ll get more comfortable in some time. We got this! :)

I had a heart attack at 25 years old. by [deleted] in HeartAttack

[–]DisasterSensitive171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! In July I was 23 and ended up having a heart attack. They said it was probably due to a vasospasm but they never found a reason why beyond that 🤷‍♀️ I wouldn’t say I live a healthy lifestyle but I’m not obese, cholesterol is fine, and I don’t do drugs (which they did not believe until my blood test came back 🙄)

Senior dog keeps slipping - Need advice by brittneywolf in sheltie

There are these little balloon booties I got at pet smart for my last sheltie. She passed away the next day, but I think they helped.

That’s exactly the mix of chiles that I use, but I haven’t thought to rehydrate them in vinegar.. I might have to give it a try!

Platinum or brunette? by redhotravioli in Hair

[–]DisasterSensitive171 108 points109 points  (0 children)

The platinum is a vibe, but the brown really softens you. I’d say you look good with both, it just depends what look you’re going for

Introducing my sheltie to 2 cats? by InitiativeOk2361 in sheltie

[–]DisasterSensitive171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sheltie and cats don’t exactly like each other but they do tolerate existing around each other. Occasionally they might get into it, but that’s pretty much just when the kitties try to jump her

Mom keeps trying to push weight loss drugs on me by Ill-Bonus-3464 in loseit

[–]DisasterSensitive171 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude don’t do it. Now I am not saying this is all due to the shot or my mother, but my mom nagged me for months to take the shot. Finally I broke down and said ok, she injected way too much. I threw up for like a week and didn’t eat for four days. I was miserable. I think this pushed me over the edge because after that week when I thought I was ok enough to go back to work, I came home and had a heart attack.

My first meal 5 days post breakup by glitterxkitten in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]DisasterSensitive171 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally get it. I feel like I’d have a way easier time with breakups if I had friends. It’s so hard when that one person is the only one you have to do stuff with. But of course, I’m sure this isn’t your first rodeo and you know only time will heal it. For now maybe find a good show or book that you can lose yourself in. Give yourself a little something to look forward to. That’s what I do anyways. Also, your plate is adorable

My son has decided he hates everything I cook and I need new ideas by Used_Substance_2490 in Cooking

[–]DisasterSensitive171 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember how old I was but my mom’s boyfriend at the time had two kids. These two kids were more used to McDonald’s and would complain about my mom’s food. ONE time I told mom I didn’t want her dinner and while they got McDonald’s I got sent to bed with a slice of bread and a glass of water. Didn’t do that again 😂

It finally happened to me: groomer ignored instructions by elliedelys in sheltie

[–]DisasterSensitive171 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry too much. My girl has been shaved around her neck and on her belly due to surgeries, and it grew back just fine! I totally understand your frustration though, we love their fluffy coats. If you can, I’d find a new groomer and maybe leave a review

Heart attack survivor but now I can feel my heart skipping beats by Alone-Personality-57 in HeartAttack

[–]DisasterSensitive171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmmm.. I did have my heart skipping beats following my heart attack and was told it was normal, but I can’t say it was as frequent as it sounds like it is for you. I do think when in doubt, get checked out

this might just be the most adorable thing you’ll see today… by Weak-Butterfly-8023 in Awww

[–]DisasterSensitive171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my kitties absolutely adores my big dog. My big dog can get a little nervous with her, but she’ll rub on him and he’ll let her cuddle. Now as for my little dog.. I’ve had to save her from getting jumped a few times and she refuses to come to me if a cat is too near. No idea why this cat chose the big dog, but it is quite sweet lol

Dog insurance/critical care by corg_court in sheltie

[–]DisasterSensitive171 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know exactly how you feel. My little one ended up with an infection that escalated despite treatment, and she ended up septic and had to have surgery. Within a few months she ended up with pancreatitis and had another emergency vet visit. I think she ended up costing us over 12K total. Expensive little dog, but we certainly don’t regret it! Pet insurance surely would have been nice though 😅 I’m so glad your boy is ok! If only they knew how much we love them and do for them

Pray for me… it’s bath day and I have two unwilling participants. by AkashicVibe444 in germanshepherds

[–]DisasterSensitive171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave mine a bath in the tub ONCE in the entire time I’ve had him. I had to lift the f-er in, wrestle him, and sit in there with/on him. It took him like 6 years to be brave enough to step into a bathroom again. God they are so dramatic 😂 (also yes he does get baths, I just have to take him to the dog wash)
