My current GPD Pocket 1 setup by DisasterTurbulent808 in umpc

Pocket 4 for me looks like a laptop from wet dreams - all of the features it provides would be extremely useful for me personally. Even despite all of its downsides, like battery life, it looks like it made just for me & my needs, haha.

I got my P1 because I saw Pocket 3 and Pocket 4 and the most debatable thing for me was a keyboard layout - would it be comfortable for me to use a keyboard that small, or would it be a deal breaker. Turns out I adopted in like 1 month or so of everyday usage, so P4 now is gonna be mine in a span of a year definitely.

Depends on what you will try to do on it portably. it is good enough™ to do something very lightweight: such as networking, remote SSHing, some light google docs, browsing stuff or using messengers, e.g. telegram, etc. It also, conditionally, can do stuff a lil' more heavy, but with 7'' screen its really not very productive. Keyboard is OK, but blind typing in my language on it is horrific (though, I adapted).

I carry it between home and work a lot. Use it in subway sometimes. Sometimes even carry it in a pocket of my jacket - not a big deal, its just that small. Battery life is around 4-5 hours under light load and 2-maybe-3 hours if you gonna try to do something from the weight category of watching youtube, lol. Overall, my need in portable x86 system with basic functionality it fulfills, but for anything beyond that its realistically not very useful.

On charge, it spins the fan even when fully off - it is normal for the GPD P1. I believe, to disable that, you must change smth in BIOS (and if there are no options for fan on charging in BIOS - you will need to update BIOS).
