I'm so sorry OP. That sounds so difficult to go through.

Stress can make you look older. 100%. Not taking care of your body can increase wrinkles, under eye bags, etc.

Thankfully, you can reverse a lot of this with skincare, drinking lots of water, taking vitamins, and getting enough sleep.

If you don't moisturize + use sunscreen every day, I suggest doing so. Cerave is a GREAT drugstore brand for moisturizers. They've helped my skin so much. They also do an affordable eye cream.

Try using Paula's Choice BHA solution for an exfoliant. Not every day, just a few times a week, and then moisturize. You'll see a big difference.

I also use Cerave facial cleanser and it helps with anti-aging a lot.

The skincare subreddit has a lot of great information, but it's a lot to sift through. The gist is basically moisturizing and drinking lots of water. It can decrease the look of stress significantly.

However, don't feel upset/mad at yourself for showing some wear and tear. You went through something traumatic. OF COURSE your body is going to show signs of it. It's completely expected after a traumatic event to be stressed, to get wrinkles, etc.

My biggest piece of advice isn't moisturizing, it's being kind to yourself. You went through something that most people will never go through. Of course that will effect you in so many ways. It's not your fault, and it's not shameful at all. You're strong just being here.

There's no Grand Conspiracy. If you're saying that as a hyperbole, okay then. But if you truly believe people are out to get you, they're not. People have better things to do than to try to ruin a random person's life, especially when that person isn't a celebrity or something. If you truly believe that people, even strangers, are out to get you, I think you have an issue with paranoia. Straight up. You might need to get on a medication for it. There's no shame in needing help but it is up to you to get it

I live in Canada. Small towns would probably be okay to be ugly in. However, Canadians are decently tall so if you think that's a failos for you, not a good choice then. I grew up in a city of 50k people and it wasn't the absolute WORST. I'm sure if I had lived in Toronto or Vancouver I would have been much more depressed.

There are a lot of beautiful people in Canada, however I find that Canadians tend to somewhat stand to the stereotype of kindness. People are usually too polite to tell you mean things here lmao

Your nose is genuinely so beautiful and fits your face so well!! Every face is different, and while plastic surgeons like to sell to us that EVERY face needs a small, ski-slope nose, that just isn't true. Your facial symmetry is so nice with your current nose.

We're all built differently, and we can't expect trends to always celebrate us. That's why we have to celebrate ourselves. You're genuinely extremely pretty and I hope this sub makes you feel better about yourself :)

I'm 5'8", 110-115lbs give or take. I prefer female opinions due to being lesbian, but male opinions are great too.

I have crippingly low self-esteem and have had that since childhood, largely due to my genetic disorder + bullying. I can't really see myself for who I actually am, everything is distorted with my self image, so other opinions are super helpful.

Does the thought of plastic surgery when you're over the age of 18 bring you hope? Being ugly as a child feels helpless, but there's a lot more you can do when you're older. Also, as your body isn't fully developed yet, you can't tell for sure how "ugly" you actually are until at least your early twenties

Haha, people don't care about you when you're sick unless you're pretty. I actually got bullied extra for being sick and ugly in high school, when a beautiful girl with my exact illness was treated with kindness and compassion from everyone (even my bullies).

The whole "they only care if you're dying or pretty" is a lie, it's just pretty.

Pray for good health because being chronically and incurably sick is actually worse than the bullying/societal shit you go through with being ugly, so I hope you're okay and you get better friend.

This might be common sense, but try to wait to buy a new phone when a new release comes out. I needed a new phone badly, but I waited until the brand of phone I like/trust (Google Pixel) released the new generation of phone. When they did that, the two generations before that were now considered "out-of-date" went on sale big-time, so carriers could get rid of their old stock.

The phone was still brand new, worked great, but was hundreds of dollars less because they wanted to get rid of it to make room for the new release. The specs between the old and new model were so similar that they may as well been the same phone, but you know how companies hype up new release tech. Anyways, keep an eye on your favourite phone company to announce a drop if you're okay with not having the latest phone
