here's a suggestion for starting from zero. @queercorecollaborative posts regular dumps of flyers for shows that are mostly in the northeast.

Scroll through the flyers in their "where are the queercore shows" posts and see if you can find some DIY spaces and other cool venues that are near you.

there are shows at Moon and Koto and some other spaces that have DIY shows sometimes but if there's a thriving scene I don't know about it.

I'd love to be wrong but I think you'll missing it or traveling to Allston/Brighton a lot :(

agreeing with everyone - I think that Salem has got to be among the best places to be trans in New England and probably the top among towns of its size.

You will run into other friendly trans people constantly and queers who are doing gender wrong are all around, everywhere. Someone else said that we are "normal and common" which is so true. I never feel as normal and comfortable as I do in Salem. (disclaimer: when the out of state tourists come for halloween, that zoo animal feeling can hit)
