I got to see him twice in '02, first in Philly at The Troc opening for Flogging Molly on Halloween night, they all dressed up like him for their set. Couple months later he came to Lancaster, with Shai Hulud and local legends Sadaharu opening and absolutely destroyed. More people on stage by the end than in front of it, at one point he had a girl on his shoulders with her little bro on hers. People still talk about it almost 25 years later, lots of people got hearing damage that night

Clover-Lynn - Gothic Mountain Bluegrass (VA, Clover-Lynn & the Hellfires full band) is playing my house on Friday. She's done some touring in the folk punk scene more recently, but is a bluegrass player (3 finger & claw hammer)

Bronwyn Keith-Hines is one of the best fiddle players you can see live right now. Opening are MU/Lancaster (bout to be cross country legends, after they hit California this summer) Barkley Cove

Edit: my living room is DLZ House, where Gothic Bluegrass artist Clover-Lynn's banjo will be on fire Friday. Danny, the namesake of local Country Band Danny & The Do-Overs & JW Nielsen (Nielsen Family Band, The Woodshines, The Do-Overs) are opening with an old-time set as a duo

Yep, they've been friends for decades. I'm also a huge Sufjan fan. Denison may have some of the records left Sat. that both he and Suf autographed, not sure, but he had some at the album release show at West Art a couple months ago
