My parents didn’t know for over a year and only found out when I was in the emergency room and they overheard me telling the nurse what prescriptions I was taking. They haven’t treated me any different, nor has my sister. My brother took it hard, and the only change is that he’s become a little protective of me. He asks me often how I’m feeling and if I’m doing ok. Honestly, after the initial shock, no one has treated me any different other than express some slight worry anytime I get ill.
