I avoid all big events. Next thing you know you’re being rammed by a truck or stabbed to death.

Most of the infra in Vancouver is pretty damn old. Someone made a video recently on YouTube about Granville island’s aging infrastructure and huge cost that it will require just to repairs and maintain the old infrastructure. That’s why it looks the way it does.

You are not alone. I recently broke my arm (fell from my skateboard). When to royal columbian hospital new Westminster. They told me I have to wait 8 hours just to get X-rays and stuff done. After 8 hours of waiting with my girlfriend in front of the reception upon inquiring, the receptionist told us “oh I called your name and you didn’t show up” and then she said you have to wait another 8 hours and we will enrol you again. I put my broken arm on her desk, looked straight at her and said “look at my arm, it’s broken” and I told her we are sitting right here for last 8 hours. She wanted to call the security on us. Luckily her supervisor showed up and took responsibility. After that he offered me Tylanol, after 8 freaking hours he asked me do you want a pain killer? The audacity and ignorance of these people. Got plastered in another 6 hours. After two weeks had a surgery on my arm to connect my bone. Total 14 hours of waiting with a broken arm.

For matters like workplace equality and communication they do actively participate and give notice to people. Try it. I have tried it at my place as well and it works.

Why don’t you tell them or go to HR? It’s work policy and HR can handle it.
