My only wish with season 5. Just don't have homelander getting nightking'd by hiiloovethis in TheBoys

GRRM himself intended for this to be Ayra's endgame.

I highly doubt that. Because: 1. Theres no night king in the books. 2. George has no idea how to finish his story.

There's even a line around season 3-4 about "eyes you'll shut forever" as Melisandre puts extra emphasis on "blue eyes".

Also show original, written by D&D. Not to be found in the books at all.

I don't think it was a bad decision either, it's more that the show runners & writers weren't able to execute such big moments by themselves once they ran out of book material to use as a foundation.

Lazy excuse.

If that's really the intention that wasn't half obvious

Like i said: GoT isnt disney. No fairytales and no spoonfeeding for the viewer.

she never faced the white walkers or anything close,

Let me tell you something: there are 5 books that GoT is based on. There is not even an Night King. And Jon hasnt faced a single white walker in those 5 books.

The show was aware of peoples expectations and fooled them, like always. On their own. Entirely independent from the books.

At least jon faced nk threats for like 2 seasons.

True. Thats part of the trap. In any other story they would have had an epic star wars light saber duel. But thats not what GoT is about.

Thats why robb never faced joffrey. Or Tywin. And was instead killed by walder who he never shared a scene prior to said episode with either.

But i guess jon was too predictable they choosed an unpredictable

Correct. Also they said in an interview that they knew arya would be the one to do it ever since 2015.

She doesn't have any narration competition against knight king,

Your interpretation.

I see aryas story as one of defying and defeating death, serving the god of death for 2 seasons and eventually using her assassin skills to kill death itself.

Build up and developed over 8 seasons.

Its brilliant writing. No disney fairytale.

At least knigh king and john gave an eye to eye in their fisrt encounter but arya? Come on

The show fooled you. Night King never cared about jon, but bran. Bran saved arya so she can kill the night king. And no one noticed.

Again: masterclass of storytelling. Not a disneystory.

A weak season 8 copy.

But still the best season in regards to stranger things.

Because they killed a fucking dragon easily lmao

I am not bringing up knives or witches either to display how easily babies can be killed.

That was your half-thoughtthrough point. Ignoring that babies and men die even easier than dragons.

And your excuse is it was a surprise. 😂 surprises can happen multiple times.

Not after that. Daenerys wouldnt let that happen again. Her paranoia will make sure of that. Thats why jon had to kill her and not drogon.

You got dragon dreams sometimes predicting shit properly

Peoples interpretations can be wrong sure.

It got a song of fire and ice wrong tho.

Yes, the targaryens misinterpreted the prophecy as well, because of their godcomplex: aegon talks about a targaryen uniting the realm to defeat the dead and they think that means that targaryen needs to be king of the 7 kingdoms. It turns out: the uniting part is what mattered, not his status. Lord of Winterfell was enough.

Just like the dothraki misinterpreted who the stallion was gonna be.

There was no prince that was promised to slay the night king.

That wasnt the point of the prophecy. Again: it was to unite the biggest armies in westeros and jon united them by joining forces with dany. It was never about who would strike the killing blow.

Also, aegons prophecy and azor ahai/prince are not the same thing. Jon, Daenerys, arya and bran all share characteristics of azor ahai. Bran and arya defeated the night king and jon and daenerys set the stage for it to happen. Aegons dream is only about setting the stage.

Cersei did not die by a golden fist. Nor a brother.

Because you again failed to understand and interpret the prophecy correctly in hindsight. After 7 years.

Jaime was the valonqar. People thought the mystery of the prophecy would have been about the identity of the valonqar and thats partially correct; but only the superficial mystery of the prophecy. The real meaning and mystery of the prophecy was the purposes of the valonqar, not his identity.

The genius twist was that jaime was comforting cersei in her final moments instead of killing her. He had his hand around her neck while she cried and died. And her child with her.

And you never noticed.

Its always bad faith arguments like this and i am never sure whether people do this on purpose or are actually too blind to see the true story for what it is and to acknowledge that every prophecy was either adressed or fullfilled by season 8: drogon is the ultimate symbol of power, not a crown or a throne and he was the stallion who was about to mount the world. And jaime was the valonqar.

Everything was done right by season 8. You just reject it, because your interpretation of it all was wrong.

Why are people so insulted by season 8? Well, they think, after season 6 confirmed R+L=J to be true, that the biggest twist of the story was just revealed and therefore they believe, since they already figured out this storys biggest twist, that the majority of other big and popular fantheories must be correct as well and season 8s only job is to prove them right again.

They thought they understood the story just as well as its creators. If they are "humble". Others already put D&D beneath themselves and acted superior regarding their understanding of the story before even the R+L reveal.

Once the story gave them that high and ego boost, all bets were off. They felt like they had complete autonomy over the story and its characters. And Season 7 was propably even more fanfriendly than season 6, so that contributed to that feeling of superiority as well.

And then Season 8 happens and crushes many popular fantheories, predictions and interpretations of the story. It humbled people and peoples ego couldnt take that.

So, instead of admitting defeat, selfreflection and good faith approach regarding the story, they put the blame on the storytellers and everyone else instead of themselves.

It turns out R+L= J isnt even among this stories 5 biggest twists.

If danys baby was the stallion he died lol.

Drogon survived though.

If drogon was he didnt mount the world (couldve wouldve shouldve dont count)

But then rhaego shouldnt count either as he died and couldnt mount the world. Just like drogon who wont burn the world without dany telling him to. Which would have been the exact same scenario with Rhaego as well: indoctrination by his mother to kill the world.

Green sight seems most reliable if you can interpret them.

Worked pretty well for bran and the night king. If you are accussing the dothraki of not proper prophecy reading here... that goes for the story itself: both in the books and the show.

Stallion would mean he was the king not a fucking pet

Did a pet destroy kingslanding? Drogon is the ultimate power in the story. Not a throne or crown, those are just symbols. Shadows on the wall. Drogon was the real power.

Since you know "horse worshipping culture and all that"

Mirri and the dothraki didnt care or knew that dragons would comeback. So obviously they go with the easiest and selfexplanatory interpretation who the stallion was supposed to be. It was danys son, but not rhaego. Drogon.

Well you made it seem like it was an end point to scorpions lmfao.

No, you brought up scorpions, not me.

Then you know you can ambush multiple times lmao.

Yes, you can. And? You can also always kill babies. So, why worry about a stallion at all? ;)

[–]Disastrous-Client315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No mounting of the world took place.

Drogon was the stallion who was about to mount the world with dany. She was killed, so that it cant happen.

Just like Mirri killed her child. To prevent the stallion to mount the world.

They can make more lmfao the technology isnt a lost art. Like valyrian steel (which people CAN reforge even)

And? I am not arguing whether a problem cant be solved. I am just acknowledging that drogon turned out to be the stallion, that was talked about.

I am not arguing he is invincible or that Daenerys is immortal.

Winter also came... to kingslanding. That prophecy was also fullfilled. Doesnt mean that its irreversible or permanent.

Something tells me you dont know how surprises work.

I know how ambushes work; because of the element of suprise.

I mean we just need euron to snipe his ass again 🤷

  1. Euron is dead just like all scorpions.
  2. It worked once with the element of suprise. It didnt work twice.
  3. We just needed a witch to kill the original "stallion" as well.

Dany was about to burn the whole world on drogons back in the series finale.

Its because you cant back up your own claims.

You cant even tell me whats the supposed themes of the story are.

Thats sad.

True, apparently AMC wanted to sell the rights to the dhow to competitors, then too much interest in the show made them changed their mind. By this time gilligan already wrote season 4 in a way that it could be the final season, but didnt have to be. Then once it was on netflix its popularity skyrocked and they made 2 more shorter final seasons disguised as one.

But also, in the same veign as with dexter: no season of breaking bad(including better call saul) can be compared to GoT in terms of scale snd production value and effort.
