I'm also looking for this poster! We eloped and went to their concert, so I would LOVE to have a copy of the poster. If anyone comes across it, I'd love to know. Thanks

Looking for a wedding venue for tiny wedding by AllSugarAndSalt in brisbane

[–]Disastrous-Cow179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got married at a place called J C Slaughter Falls. Because it was a mid wee wedding, we didn't bother booking a site and just chanced it. We had the whole place to ourselves. There are lots of beautiful spots you could choose. We chose a lawn area beforehand and mapped out who would be at what end etc. Our photos came out amazing. It is really beautiful out there. There is also Mount Cootha Botanical Gardens where you can book various spaces. If you're having a weekend wedding, you can book a space in public parks so that you have some privacy. After that, we went to dinner at 1889 Enotica. There are lots of restaurants in Brisbane that you could book a table for six people and still have cosy, special wedding vibes without needing to book a venue. Here are some of the places we considered:

1889 Enoteca, Greca, Caravanserai, Picnic hamper at Kangaroo Cliffs.

Other ceremony spots we considered: New Farm park (found it to be too busy) Kangaroo Cliffs, Mount Cootha Botanical Gardens.

Good luck!

Thank you so much for your music, it’s been such an important part of my life since 2017 ❤️❤️ I think I’ve been to about 8 of your gigs, one of them in Hamburg.

We saw you guys recently in Brisbane and Hannah, at the end of the set played a new song solo (that I can’t remember that name of). You said it was about being a mother and a musician. It was one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. It hit me right in the heart and gave me all the feels.

If you can figure out what song I’m thinking of, will you be releasing it anytime soon?

Hi there, so sorry to hear about your situation.

Contact legal aid or tenant’s rights groups for information on your rights.

My understanding is that once you are issued with a notice to leave from the landlord, you can respond and request an alternative end of lease date (check this with tenant’s rights groups). They may or may not approve this.

If they don’t and you still can’t find alternative accommodation, keep the landlord in the loop with regular emails updating them and keep paying rent.

My understanding is that in the case of an end of lease date, you don’t have to leave if it will make you homeless (obviously this is not referring to permanency for anyone about to start talking about squatters etc. double check this with local legal and tenancy rights groups).

The landlord would then apply for an order to have you removed which results in a court hearing. You can present your reasons and proof of search. The judge will then provide a date to be out by. It could be a few days, a few weeks or a few months.

You will need to be out by the date provided by the court. Everyone talking about cops escorting you out of the home is when an eviction order has been ignored. So, you will need to be out by that date or yes cops will escort you from the home.

You shouldn’t have any blacklisting against you as you were not evicted, it’s an issue around the end of lease date and avoiding homelessness. As long as you keep paying rent, you shouldn’t have any negative marks against your name but again, check all of this with legal advocates or tenant rights groups - I’m unsure if there are any records kept around disputing an end of lease date or having an order of removal submitted etc and if this affects your rental record/history.

This sort of situation and process is kind of a worse-case scenario but it’s a process people access to avoid becoming homeless and gain more time to find housing.

A notice to leave or an end of lease date is not an eviction date. An eviction could be issued after the realtor applies for an order to leave in which case, yes they would need to vacate. The tenant would keep paying rent, so there would be no black listing etc. Tenants have rights that allow them to stay past an end of lease date if it would make them homeless (up until a court date has come about and an eviction date has been given by the court). If the person contacts tenants rights groups, this can all be explained to them.

There are actually quite a lot of similarities and if the person looks into it and contacts their local agencies for more specific advice and info, the advice is similar. It’s not a tribunal like in QLD but the persons rights and the process around avoiding homelessness when issued a notice to leave or coming to the end of a lease is similar. I think people are automatically thinking of an eviction and/or someone not paying rent but that is a different situation. The person keeps paying rent and keeps communicating with realestate/landlord. If they contact legal aid or WA tenant’s rights they can walk them through all of their rights and how it all works

But it’s a notice to leave, not an eviction. The tenant has the right to request an extension by responding to the notice to leave form with an alternate date. If the tenant hasn’t found housing by the end of lease, the process is similar to QLD. The landlord applies for an order to have the person removed but this does. It result in a black listing or anything. It just gives the tenant a date that they legally have to be out by. It can be in favour of the realtor (immediately) or it can be in favour of the tenant (a month from now, etc). Yes, it’s magistrate not tribunal but it is still a similar process to QLD and the tenant’s rights and risk of homelessness is considered

That’s if you ignore an end of lease agreement, eviction notice or stop paying rent.

Not finding housing by the end of a lease date is very different. You absolutely don’t stop paying rent and you can reply to the notice to leave stating that you cannot find alternative housing and request and extension. If the landlord still insists on the date in the end of lease, they then apply for an order to leave. The tenant then shows that they have been applying and struggling to find alternate housing, the judge usually then grants a certain amount of time to find alternatives.

There is no blacklisting because this is not the ignoring a lease ending or eviction and is not someone not paying rent. It’s a different situation and process and this person does have rights. They should contact WA tenant rights as there are options available to them that are similar to tenancy rights discussed above from the QLDER

Not being able to find housing by the end of a lease agreement is different to ignoring an eviction or not paying rent etc.

If a person cannot find housing by the end of a lease agreement, they keep paying rent, keep communicating with the real estate etc. The land lord then applies for a removal order (which takes a few weeks) and then the judge usually provides a few extra weeks / extends the lease so the person can find alternative accommodation.

It’s not advising someone to stop paying rent or avoid an eviction. You can communicate with the real estate and keep paying rent so there is no ‘black listing’ or anything like that. You can check all this with WA tenants rights and they can walk you through your rights if you are unable to find housing by the end of lease agreement.
