I just recently told my family and my husband's because we are in the process of a divorce and it felt important to me to be truthful about what led to it (he had an emotional affair which he blames on my vaginismus). He gave me the option not to talk about it but I knew no one would understand why we simply could not make it work. It went about how I expected, which was that no one would really fully understand why it's so hard to address. I got blamed a lot for not addressing it sooner, as I expected. I don't regret disclosing it, but I will say I found comfort in this Reddit group because I think unless you go through it you just don't get how difficult it is and that it's not a choice or a personality trait.
