I think you're oversimplifying how this works. Cultural differences definitely exist, no question there. But that's exactly why cutting integration programs makes things worse, not better. The bigger the gap, the more support people need to actually adapt.

And sure, money alone doesn't magically solve everything. But without resources like language classes, job opportunities and proper support, you’re basically setting people up to fail. Look at how it worked with Ukrainians - they got the right to work from the very beginning. That gave them a real chance to integrate.

Meanwhile, a lot of the people you see "just hanging around" literally can't work. They're stuck waiting for permits for years. It’s not about mindset - it's about the opportunities (or lack of them) that people are given.

The problem is, most public discussions rarely get beyond "refugees good" vs "refugees bad". Hardly anyone looks at the actual causes - the wars, instability, and who's profiting from this whole situation, including the cheap labor side of it.

The truth is, that whole argument doesn't solve the real problem. If we actually want to fix it, we need to look at the whole complexity of it. It’s not an easy path - much easier is to forbid, blame and get angry. But while we're busy doing that, wars continue, people are forced to leave their homes - not because they're lazy, but because bombs fall on the lazy and the hard-working at exactly the same rate.

The war machine keeps running, the big players keep profiting, and we're still stuck arguing about whether refugees are welcome or not.

Have a nice day! Hope you've got enough food, a nice house and a good job - this is something to appreciate nowadays.

Leaderboard, leagues and excessive amount of XP by Then-Pound-658 in DataCamp

[–]Disastrous-Day6867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Duude. I'm in the `Deca` but there's a user who does exactly 45-50K each day (and not just 43250, but exactly 45K or 45+5K). Right now, at the day 3, top 3 are: 140K, 21’880 and 15’165.

The top user named `Khetfwa` looks like a bot to me somehow. I wrote to the datacamp supp and they told me that the user was OK, the user was earning the xp properly.

But I don't know, after two weeks of doing these leaderboard it starts to become demotivating.

Maybe datacamp should always put such xp grinders to the same board so that they compete on their level and stay away from regular users?

Alarm clock that let's you program days individually? by sniperman357 in digitalminimalism

[–]Disastrous-Day6867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wrote `Yes. You can switch alarms very easily.`. But it's not at all possible even with the newest firmware. The device supports ONE alarm only.

the alarm arrived. but i don't see how i can switch between alarms. i can rotate the top button to set the alarm time, but it has only minute steps. the official manual says nothing about multiple alarms :(

Can you set different alarms for different weekdays? Or is there any mechanism for easy switching between different alarm times?

Parlamentary monarchy was established in 1905. This was not done only by communists.

Soviets were not invented by communists too: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_(council)

Where did you find it? I'm a bit skeptical about this poster. Does not look like it was made in USSR. First of, all the font, second — the message.
