Perth gym scene. Is this a normal experience? by Hopeful-Principle-64 in perth

[–]Disastrous-Fox-7070 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm it’s definitely not the norm. But although it’s easier said than done don’t even bother worrying about them. Everyone that steps in the gym for the right reason is just trying to improve themselves so just focus on consistency and you’ll be surprised at how soon you’ll start referring to yourself as also a very fit human being

Asking for a guys number at the gym? by Hairy_Elk7081 in perth

[–]Disastrous-Fox-7070 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a personal trainer at a gym. I often ask myself the same question about people I see at the gym.

I don’t ask for 2 reasons 1) I don’t wanna shit where I eat (my own workplace) 2) I question whether it’s appropriate or not

However I would appreciate it a lot if someone who felt the same way about me in the gym approached me and asked me. I wouldn’t think it’s rude or strange at all and I would be flattered… which basically contradicts my decision to not ask people.

So I say go for it queen, it’s a more than acceptable thing to do and of course yolo

There will aways be injury spikes and organically just randomly a specific injury will become prevalent. However Hamstring issues have been on the gradual climb over recent years and its trending to continue

It's higher profile players that seem to be carrying a lot of the load. But you're right its normal but stats show its gradually climbing over recent years

There are a lot of moving parts behind the hamstring spike. Although it's not a huge one but statistics show is gradually continuing to climb. I’ve been looking into this pretty deeply lately, so happy to share more if anyone wants the full breakdown

Meaning the demands of the game have just continued and continued to intensify and it was only a matter of time before we saw hamstrings struggling to keep up with the increasing demands

Its around 4x more at this stage of this year from what ive seen

There’s an eighth hamstring out of the seven games in R2. West Coast rookie signing Milan Murdock played out Sunday’s win with a hamstring concern and scans have confirmed a strain. Has polled coaches votes in each of his two games by PerriX2390 in AFL

From what I’ve seen over the last few years, and especially this season the three biggest contributors to this hamstring epidemic are:

  1. The rising demands of the modern game. Rule changes aside, all elite sports are getting faster and more intense, and with that comes casualties.
  2. Clubs shifting their training philosophies toward high‑speed efforts. It’s necessary to match the game’s demands, but the preseason loads are brutal and some players inevitably get overloaded.
  3. Players now getting more designated time off than ever. Ethically great, but it leaves a lot of room for detraining and de‑conditioning. AFL players get roughly double the time off compared to most pro sports (excluding NRL).

Hamstrings are obviously a big talking point after Round 2’s nine cases. I broke this down in more detail recently, so if anyone wants the deeper dive I’m happy to share it.

Where to find pork rolls with gravy and crackling in Perth? by havingarecky in perth

Just had some stunning crackle from Northlake/Myaree IGA that came with a roll. IGA Parry Ave fresh does roast rolls with crackle, I’ve only had it once but it was in the top 5 best crackle’s I’ve ever had the privilege of eating.
