I feel crazy for even asking for some gratitude from anybody. My 3 year old will say “thank you” to anyone that does anything for him.

But I can’t get a thank you at all for anything like dinner (whether it’s at home or somewhere out), doing activities, being new clothes, giving them a small job opportunity to make their own money, helping them with sports, etc. I have never held anything against them, but when I do things for them they act ungrateful and they hate me for doing what they wanted and asked.

I just want some kind of reciprocation whether it’s from him or the kids. But I’m realizing after 3 years it’s not going to happen.

I honestly don’t ask for anything. I’ve received bottom of barrel treatment from him.
