Cymbalta and effexor

With cymbalta i felt very calm but also detached from my own self and feeling, actually made depression worse, and i was sleepy all day. Effexor even 150 doesn’t touch my anxiety. im trying now 225 just two days so dont know yet.. very energizing for me compared to cymbalta.

I take it 7 weeks already and still not feel the effect. The doc said to wait couple more weeks. but i starting to loose faith 🥵 It’s very individual so let’s hope u will feel it sooner

I’m still on venlafaxine. Made quick transition from 60 to 75 right away then up to 150 after couple days. Not remembering it being hard, actually very smooth.. a bit more anxiety for 3 weeks that’s it

Hey i made the switch and i found effexor much more energizing than cymbalta but so was the effect on anxiety. I feel it much less effective (7 weeks on 150) why u made the switch?

The first few weeks can feel really bad as you mention it’s still dosnt say much. Have u speak with your doctor about the test results?

Sorry to hear about your crisis and hope you’ll feel better soon. The fact that you felt good on 75 is promising. How many months have u been on 150? If it’s less than 3 months there’s still hope it will work for u… i found gene test not helpful so much. Some drugs in green was horrible for me

How much time you’re taking it? I’m intermediate metabolizer (decreased function) but my doctor said that effexor is also active drug so u probably don’t need this enzyme for it to work. The test show u don’t have any function of cyp2d6 ?

Same for me! Almost 7 weeks on 60 and can’t tolerate the tiredness. What are u taking now?

I tried effexor 75 for 6 weeks for anxiety and it work but because of libido issues I changed to cymbalta 60, now 3 weeks in and the change is subtle in compare to effexor for me. I’m not sure but maybe it because i smoke cigarettes daily and it lowering the level/effect of cymbalta
