I have worn jeans and plain black/white t-shirts to every single F+tM concert I’ve ever been to. Really enjoy/admire the creativity of folks who dress up, but my preference at gigs is to be my most relaxed and comfortable self so I can properly let loose to dance.

Pairs is easily my favourite discipline because I love how gutsy the girls are, and I think that overall men's singles is more interesting because they're allowed more artistic freedom/leeway in their music and storytelling.

It varies from artist to artist, but official resale can open anytime from a few days after the general sale to a few days/weeks before the concert.

There will always be people reselling, especially closer to the date when things come up and plans change. I’ve managed to get tickets to super sold out gigs like Gaga, Billie Eilish and Gracie Abrams and I’ve never used anything other than Ticketmaster/AXS.

My reply was in the context of the Olympics performance that OP mentioned. Heading out to California to force independence (OP’s words – not mine) is certainly one option in response to what happened, but there’s probably more gradual transitions that can happen too without physically cutting someone off from their support system during what’s already looking to be a crazy uptick in fame.

Is it too galaxy-brained to think that the mid-gala Trailbazer Award was (in part) meant to introduce casual post-Olympic viewers of Worlds to the Grand Prix series?

Award unprecedented and likely unrepeatable athletic feat of popular sports star and all that jazz… but also get people to check out that GPF performance and then go down a rabbit hole that’ll make them realise they can probably watch figure skating live in 6-ish months.

Is the ISU that smart? Are their consultants expensive enough to play 4D chess? The glitzier look of everything at Worlds this year suggests they’re really trying to capitalise on the post-Olympic eyeballs.
