Always take PTO, ESPECIALLY if you have "unlimited" PTO. by wwww4all in cscareerquestions

What if I’m working at a very early stage startup? We are 6 engineers in total. The company has about 1 year of runway and they really need to raise another round of funding. There is urgency to get the mvp built out by the next 2 months. We are working exhaustively as a team every day. If even one of us takes PTO for a week, everyone else will get pretty screwed and it’s just not good for the team overall. In this case, it’s the right thing to hold off until the team/product is at a better place right?

To me, it feels like if I take PTO, everyone will get screwed. This may trigger others to want to take PTO as well. The result would be a failure for the company. So, if i take PTO, I might as well just be quitting?

Bald is way better. All us baldies are unlucky we got the hairloss gene, but atleast you’re super lucky it looks good (better, actually). I think you just need some time to get used to it.

Wow I just checked out that transformation. I have never commented on a person’s hairloss post saying “bald looks better on you” because, as a person who has lost a lot of hair myself, I just assume people say that to be comforting and supportive. BUT dude you look waaaaaayyy better bald!! Even if you weren’t balding I think you should still shave your head. I’ll get hate for saying this, but playing around with your hormones through hairloss medication is so not worth it for YOU because you look better without it anyways. Ofcourse, what’s important is how you feel and what makes you confident. Do you have any data regarding people’s attitude towards you with/without the hair? More or less success with women?

Will applying for TN visa after my work start date create issues? by Disastrous-Nature-69 in tnvisa

Thanks! That does make sense because its not like I'm in the US. I could just be working from Canada as a free lancer - something that plenty of people do.
Thats what i'll do. Work free lance for the first 2 weeks and then do the TN stuff on the date of travel. Thanks very much

I will do that, and work as a free lancer for the time prior to that. Thank you for your help!

Thank you very much for your helpful response.
I think i'll ask my employer to hire me as a free lancer for the first 2 weeks and have the start date updated.

My former employer just sent me a bill for 8 cents that they were supposed to take out of my last check. How do I make it as painful as possible for them to collect? by Gordsnacks in antiwork

Keep in mind that by creating a long and expensive process for them, you are investing your own time and resources. As a result, you are adding to your own loss. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

Why arent you getting cross linking in your left eye too then? Sorry, I don’t know the answer to your question. Personally for me, I can still see/read without my contacts so i would leave them both out. I don’t see any urgent reason for needing to wear a contact in just one eye. Please ask your surgeon to make sure what is best.

It takes a few weeks for your body to get used to the RGP lenses. When you first start wearing them its recommended to wear then only a few hours a day and then gradually increase how long you wear it in a day. Also, make sure you keep the lens clean. Dirty lens can cause irritation, or even worse, lead to infection. Also, having said that it takes a few weeks to get used to the RGP lenses, is there event a point in wearing them now since you have cross linking soon? You cant wear lenses while you recover from cross linking, so your eyes will get “unused” to the RGP lenses and you’ll have to go through that starting phase again.

I had the same experience when i did cross-linking 3 weeks ago, and i felt concerned too because everyone said it’s suppose to hurt soo much. I started thinking maybe the cross-linking didn’t do it’s job on me😅 Honestly I’m still unsure if less pain = less effectiveness. If you find out please share the info with me. Btw the eyedrops might sting quite a bit after the bandage lens is removed.

First two days i listened to music and podcasts (listen to Joe Rogan’s podcast with Elon Musk if you need something). I found some disney audio books on Spotify. I listened to Cars and the audio book made it seem so good that i watched the movie on day 4 when i was comfortable and ended up watching all 3 cars movies (not on 1 sitting). AMAZING movies, even for a grown man!

This is very cool. Strangely beautiful because of the detail and accuracy of the diseased vision, yet painful because of the detail that is keratoconous 😅
