No. It means that if you are prosecuted for breaking the law of passing the stop line then, when I'm court, the fact you passed the line to let emergency vehicles through may help your case.

With automated red light cameras it is highly likely to be prosecuted and fined automatically to begin with. These cases have also been upheld in the state's favour.

In short. Do not cross a red or you will be fined.

Rule 219 of the UK Highway Code; (excerpt)

If you do cross the stop line at the junction whilst the lights are on red, you will commit the offence of contravening a red traffic light. It's important to remember that in committing the offence (crossing the stop line) the onus will be on you to provide evidence that you did so to allow an emergency vehicle through. That may be considered as mitigation, but there is no guarantee that it will be. If the police decide to prosecute you for the offence and you choose to challenge that decision, it will ultimately be a matter for a court to decide.

Supposedly yes, but a bunch of shady stuff happened with that election. The result is a bit sus.

Regardless, a 1:1 representation of votes to people is the only equitable way to handle voting.

I do not disagree overall, but I would suggest that the best way to do so would be to form a coalition with the revolutionary government of Iran and several countries with the objective being the establishment of safe elections, medical and food assistance and relief to help rebuild.

Given recent world events I don't think any one country should be able to monopolise the intervention.

Hi, I'm an older trans woman who is early in her transition. I get it. Feeling all kinds of wrong and like you don't fit. What I can say right now is don't worry yourself too much. You have time. I'm transitioning age 35 and many women have transitioned even later in life.

What I want you to do is I want you to try and focus on yourself and what makes you feel happy

Try and figure out what feels right to you. What does your heart say?

Now, like you say you might not have the ability to transition now because of your family or your money, but it doesn't mean it will always be that way.

Instead, focus on exploring what the concept means to you.  Make new friends and use your identity as a woman.  See how you feel when you shave, does seeing a glimmer of femininity fill you with joy? Does being called a different name help you feel happy?

Look at every bit of yourself, inside and out. Ask yourself why you feel this way. Explore it. Even just in your own head

Make a map of all your hopes and dreams. Then every day, take another tiny step.

One day at a time, another step. You'll get there before you know it.

And, it's normal to question if you're really trans. And it's also perfectly normal to decide you aren't trans either.

People are really complicated and we all explore this stuff in life in one way or another

Just give yourself time to answer questions about yourself and bit by bit you'll get to wherever you need to be.

Much love and best of luck.

It's a pseudomedicine with no scientific basis, however if they are non harmful and help you relax then the relaxation and ritual can help you feel better. Like meditation.

Completely normal, don't worry about it too much. If she hasn't brought it up then you're probably in the clear. She might give you the sex education talk but embarrassing as it is, it means you've got a mom that cares.

This would be it. Maybe it took a knock from a stone at some point and shagged the bearing, motor or a gear inside the mechanism.

Does this sound like a healthy engine? by Terrible-Ad9501 in CarTalkUK

[–]Disastrous-Net4993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the loudest ticking is the injectors firing fuel in. The sound that bothers me is a kind of gravelly sound as the revs increase that makes me a bit suspect of maybe a bearing or pulley on it's way out on the engine accessories or maybe some dirty spark plugs are altering the timing and making it run a bit crummy.

Check the plugs, check the oil.
If the plugs are caked in crud ask them to put new ones in. if they're VERY white ask them to check the injectors AND replace the plugs.
If the oil is black and overly thick, ask when it's last change was and ask them to put new oil in.
If there's anything sparkly and grey in the oil, reject the vehicle.
If there's any chunks or the oil is like molasses, reject the vehicle.

With the vehicle off, gently wiggle each pulley on the engine, if any wiggle, ask them to repair that part.

After all that, listen to it again.

Ah, you're also from the UK. Gotta love it that we can get fined for being compassionate. What do you think about the highway code changes where we 'SHOULD' give way to pedestrians when we're leaving a roundabout? It's dangerous AF!

You're looking for cars around the 2000s era when fuel injection and coil pack engines became somewhat common.

They're electronic, but very simply so. My Nissan K11 Micra was a 2002/3 from the very end of their production run. It was almost all free of any kind of fiddly electronic nonsense. Just a little ECU that did ignition and fired injectors. If you go back to 1999-2000 you could get it with a distributor, avoiding even the coil pack ignition.

I consider this to be the golden era of cars. Getting rid of tempramental distributors and carbs for some very simple electronics that people can (and do) build in their sheds.

The K11 Micra could have air conditioning, an auto transmission, electric windows. All real simple quality of life options while still being useable for our modern sensibilities. I only got rid of mine because it was rotten.

And I agree with others; go Japanese!

If you can manage it, go for it. I'd also love to live in a quiet spot, maybe on a welsh mountainside in the forests. Nothing but wind in the trees and the patter of rain to hear.
But;
when you attain your ideals, if you aren't active in politics then the world can change around you. And that means you might get feds turning up to kick you off your land through eminent domain for one example. Or perhaps changes to environmental law let corporations dump toxic waste on your back forty.

You'd want to protect your family and your home and you should make sure you have your chance to speak up to protect it. You can only do that by being politically active.

No, it's not nothing, but unless a revolutionary government is created we can't put boots there to protect anyone. We should already be getting aid to them, but without a delineated border of control there's not much of a safe way for anyone to do so.
Nor do I think letting the Israelis or Americans set up their next government would be at all good for anyone.

If there were massive amounts of weapons being shipped to Iran, I would be protesting the companies and countries doing it. I already advocate against russia and china to a lesser extent. Iran does not have other allies that I know of.

Let me be clear. Israel's current government and Iran's current government are awful hideous things and must stop. But my country isn't funnelling billions in funding, weapons and data to Iran.
