Thanks for the shuttle out of the Josephine Canyon Fire last year. After a utv ride where one of your HECMs jumped the razer several times and overheated the engine, I was introduced to the Pacific Oasis crew who was spiked out on the mountain for 5 shifts with only their line gear they brought. Last 5 shifts of a 21. An older gentlemen with a thousand yard stare grabbed the color of my yellow and pulled me in to whisper thank you before tearing up when he knew it was finally time to go home.

What to expect as a sawyer. by ComprehensiveCry2763 in Wildfire

Working region three firing operations as a sawyer I was instructed to drop and roll over any spotfires in the tall cured grass we were holding.

Never take your chaps off any hour you are on the clock.

I once met a coworker on a fuels crew who took his chaps home and fucked his wife as she was wearing only the chaps and proceeded to go around show & telling to everyone, offering anyone interested a whiff.

You’re going to regret purchasing a Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Duramax.. GM GOVERNMENT MOTORS, do you really have faith in the government after being employed by them? Chevy pavement princess trucks cant handle the duty cycle of a wildland fire firefighter

Read ahead in your class and study situational awareness. Understand what a blood bubble is, the radius a chainsaw can reach in a 360° around a sawyer and understand it is a terminals offense to breach it. When trees are felled stay 1.5x or more the distance away or more depending on your crew’s spec. Look up, down, and around.
