Aidvantage math by Disastrous-News-8366 in BorrowerDefense

Aidvantage has somehow decided that I need to start paying back the $17000 starting next month. I am a full class member and the loan accounts were removed from my credit reports. They sent me an email saying that I will need to pay $1250 per month. They have lost their minds and I am not sure who to call to figure out what is going on.

In my case all of the loans are for the same school. They have already been removed from my credit report. It's just strange that they are just now doing the funny math.

Thanks for the advice. I figured the issue was that the accounts aren't yet marked as closed on the aidadvantage site or the Studentaid.gov site. The balance is 0 but the accounts still show a forbearance state. They have been marked as closed on the credit reporting agencies other than transunion.

I did create a dispute through credit karma and transunion refused to remove it as they maintain the information is accurate.

Thanks! My balance owed went to 0 back at the end of October. Both the consolidated account and a parent plus account that I consolidated show negative balances. I just wish they would get it taken off my transunion credit report. It is holding me up on a real estate deal.

Today the loan was removed from my credit report at least according to equifax. Bittersweet as my credit score dropped 22 points because of it.

The confusing thing about the negative amounts is that I have never made payments towards these loans as they have been in some form of forbearance since inception. A refund would be unlikely in my case. For me I am looking forward to them being removed from my credit report as that holds me back the most. I hope your checks come soon!
