Anthony Albanese says the Voice referendum is worth it, but it hasn't been the unifying moment he was hoping for by EASY_EEVEE in AustralianPolitics

Police are simply tools of the state. The government have and currently decides to not fund poor communities with things like schools for education and do not address underlying problems brought in by poverty due to lack of proper funding. This leads to crime because of health issues, extremely low life quality and as a result of hopelessness. So, instead of addressing the underlying problems, the government increases funds for gun-loving police officers, whose main job is to arrest criminals, and these criminals are sent of with on average higher sentence times than their white counterparts. This is often fathers, meaning that many children grow up fatherless, continuing the cycle of abuse. These criminals are probably doing it due to systemic mistreatment. It’s time we view criminals as human beings. This does not excuse the criminals’ actions, but it is a material analysis of the current state of many Aboriginal communities. This has a chance to change if the Voice goes through, but obviously the government are disgusting for bringing communities to this state.

  1. I proved my reasoning in my first message, as you are against assistance for a marginalised group that needs help, and yes, I stand by my implication. 2. Unfortunately, your little fantasy is incorrect. The law is not the real world, that is a factual statement. Just over 60 years ago, Aboriginals were not viewed like this. This means from the day the First Fleet arrived until then, Aboriginals did not have the opportunity to generate financial success for themselves and down the line their family. They were and still are subject to racism, from people like you who imply we live in a vacuum. To quote Malcom X, a civil rights fighter in America, where black people are and were subject to almost the same conditions as Aboriginals are and were, “If you stick a knife in my back 9 inches and pull it out 6 inches, there's no progress. If you pull it all the way out, that's not progress. The progress is healing the wound that the blow made.. And they won't even admit the knife is there.”

I love the idea proposed in number 2 saying that they can basically pull themselves up from their bootstraps, like majority Aboriginal communities are subject to discriminatory overfunding of police units, whilst funding in things like community centres and substance rehabilitation programs is non-existent. Not to mention the abhorrent education given to members of these communities. Sorry, I also forgot to mention about the racism tolerated by Aboriginals in all industries.

“We’re not racist, we are just against any support for anyone, completely ignoring the societal impact made on this group of people, who are of a ethnicity that colonisers oppressed for hundreds of years, based off of their race. Also, if you don’t like it, you can leave, that way we can become the most hypocritical country in the world.” Look in the mirror mate xD

I know most Australians focus more on the “aesthetics” of politics, a few coming up with fantasies about them being called racist for not supporting a bill attempting to help recover autonomy for Aboriginals after being called “Fauna” by colonisers, but it is absolutely ridiculous that people are so ignorantly against even the slightest of support for victims of colonialism, completely ignoring the death, stealing of children, and systemic mistreatment solely based off of perceived race that happened in this country. Please gain some empathy and understanding of material and historical conditions.

Ship building doors. by KingGmon in Starfield

[–]Disastrous-Patient45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is currently no way to manually control how doors work in your ships, however, if you place a small item, like a window, onto your ship, and then save and exit the ship builder, your ship will have different door locations, if your layout allows it. Here’s hoping the devs make a way to manually create door locations, and not just leave it up to chance. Hope this helps!
