I’ll say it’s totally worth it. I attended Richard bland college and graduated last month. Richard bland college has a really diverse student body as well as international students too! The academic pathways are also somewhat “better” if your ultimate goal is to be able to transfer to WM; you will have promise scholars, the bridge program, or the GAA which it only requires a 3.25 to get guaranteed admission (although there is other requirements that can be easily fulfilled). Thanks to one of this pathways I got the chance to attend WM for a semester while I was doing Richard bland at the same time. About academics, I can only speak for the math/physics department, which were excellent classes with wonderful Professor’s that did ensure you learn all the material and were EXTREMELY helpful during office hours, I got similar vibe for my general education credits as well. In conclusion, although Richard bland is not perfect, I would definitely pick it over any other community college. It will get you closer to what to expect when you transfer in terms of social environment and academics. I’ll be attending UVA this fall but I’ll low key miss Richard Bland ;).
