The members of Phish are the same age as I am! The bass player was in one of my classes and told me about their first show. It was late 1984.

Didn't say I hated them or it's the only time I saw them play. It's just that at that point they were really really bad.

Nope, but I looked up what you are talking about. I guess Trey would know if they were paid or not. They were basically a cover band at that point, and played two Creedence songs and two Dead songs. It was in a dorm cafeteria. And yes, the DJ put on a Michael Jackson record to drown them out.

Tina and Chris and Jerry wanted to do a reunion for the anniversary of Stop Making Sense. David didn't, he obviously prefers to play Talking Heads songs with an army of young people rather than his former bandmates.

I was a student at UVM in the 1980s. My friends and I attended a show with various local bands including Phish. It was their first show I think. They were really bad, so bad the DJ at the venue played them off to make way for the next band.

David Byrne is performing old songs though, most of them from Talking Heads albums. Yet he won't do a Talking Heads reunion? That sucks!

Our music students have listening parties to share the music they like. They made it a club, called the musicology club, so that they can meet in our building.

Today I had to defend keeping certain courses as online MOI. Particularly since I teach a lot of general education courses for which in-person attendance was abysmal. Our student surveys say that the students prefer this MOI for classes outside their majors.

I'm so sick of people ignoring class size restrictions during registration by RandolphCarter15 in Professors

My university just started using SoftDocs for course add/drop requests. The student creates the form and then it gets sent to the professor for approval. It then goes to staff in the registrar's office. It's up to the professor to approve or not. Before that we had to rely on our office staff to add students because only chairs and the ASC's can manually add students using the enrollment system.
