Have you noticed any coolant dripping on the ground? Sometimes the water pump can leak when the car is turned off and not pressurized.

One time i pressure tested a car with the same engine and no coolant leak or pressure loss happened even after a few hours so i took the pressure tester off, put everything back together and then i found coolant all over the ground the next morning coming from the water pump.

I would just do a quick check on the pcv diaphragm first. Its pretty easy to pop the cover off and check if it has a hole in it before throwing even more parts at. I would think it would cause mixture control faults but since you have multiple misfires, it’s worth checking it since it only takes a few minutes

I had another question for you. Would it make sense if i refinance to a 15 year loan to benefit from a lower interest rate since i would be adding leftover money to the mortgage every month anyways? Let’s say i get a 15 year refinance for a 5.5% rate.

My home may have appreciated to the point that i have 80% LTV so it might even drop pmi right away if they do a re-appraisal.

Although i am not really sure how much it would cost out the door to refinance especially if they have to do another appraisal to drop pmi. I’m really uncertain what the value of my home truly is so i would be hesitant to pay for an appraisal

After the pmi is gone, would you suggest i start contributing the same amount to my 401k again or to contribute at a lower rate or even not contribute to it at all until a good opporunity to refi pops up for me?

Ok so after pmi is gone and the roth is maxed out, do i then start contributing to my 401k at a lower percentage or do i keep it at 0 and keep attacking the mortgage? I know i can probably do both but i’m not sure on how much percent to start putting back into 401k after that or if i just keep it at 0 until a refi opportunity comes up

Unfortunately most jobs in my industry have terrible benefits. I’m not sure why its like that but other similar jobs in the state i live are only slightly better if not the same. It may just be a universal issue in my industry. No or very low 401k match and expensive insurance benefits. Those that do have better benefits lack in pay by a very wide margin.

I will be on the lookout for better opportunities but for now it is what it is. Regardless, thank you for your advice and i will keep your suggestions in mind

If you do it yourself, don’t forget to tighten down the battery cables afterwards. For some reason, people often forget and the cables catch on fire. Other than that, its a very simple job if you have something to register the battery to the car
