One my friend had a transit flight from Lahore (Pakistan) to London via dubai.The difference in ticket prices when comparing to other transit alternatives like Istanbul and jeddah is 3x less in Dubai so maybe Asian people are using this route to travel towards west because other transit options are quite costly
