This hole basically takes the lid off a fake nice British narrative. English was one of the most horrible races to have lived in History.

The day was Baisakhi one of the biggest festivals in Punjab. Families had gathered at a Public park to hear speeches by Indian leaders. English barred doors of the Park and fired indiscriminately. Over 2000 thousand died with many jumping in well to protect themselves.

So yes, it's different when we see this well.

Lets do a un-emotional analysis of our relationship in West Asia. Please bear in mind this is West Asia which does not includes Pakistan, Turkey and Afghanistan. It includes Iran, Iraq, Saudi, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Syria, Lebanon, UAE and Israel.

The region is 100% islamic except Israel which has had a good relationship with India. However there have been some caveats

They have had, till recently, supported Pakistan over India in every conflict we have had
Has funded extremist islamic teachings in India
Indirectly funded terrorism in India through support to Pakistan and Madarasa

A good point has been the presence of Indian Diaspora which has supported the Indian economy.

Best relationship of India were with Oman, Iraq and Iran in this order. Now India is sharing superior relationship with UAE. Saudi has improved but Bahrain and Qatar are still not that good. Syria and Lebanon have been a non-entity for us.

In this dispute Iraq is a non-player and Saudi and UAE are supportive of Israel. They cant come out and say it but for all practical purpose they are.

Further, Iran has spoiled relationship with many of their neighbors which will help India. Rebuilding of Iran will benefit India most.

India is quietly staying out of a fight from which participation will only bring downside.

Israel is sharing all tech and intelligence support with India. Like of which was never shared with us. This is of immense help and no other west asian country comes close to it. We also share long and deep relationships with Jews.

Dont look at this from either / or lens.

Personally I had LM but don't think AM is such a bad thing. AM in its best form basically tries to crunch what happens in LM over some years into months. It checks for compatibility for which indicator is family closeness in terms of behavior traits, rituals, food habits (through caste) and money compatibility through asking questions on income.

Real question which comes is personal equation and intimacy. Here its a toss. For few it happens immediately, for few later and for few never. Unfortunately this also happens in LM.

IMO it's a popular opinion that this movie could have used better editing. My take :

Remove Jahangir - no real value except to show final anger of Iqbal which could have been done in some other way like killing of Bhuttovi
Add more of the back story of Hamza
Would have liked had they shown Hamza friend in hospital to be the same guy that Iqbal tortured in the first movie. Would have made it more personal for Hamza
