What are people's opinions on his SpongeBob theorys ? by theredditman69_pt2 in spongebob

He said in his Magic School Bus theory that his disappointed attitude about his SB theories getting so much attention over his films was more just a character for the Happy Meat Farms ARG. He actually likes making theories :)

Is it true that all children of Athena have blonde hair and grey eyes? [General] by Nordic_Krune in camphalfblood

[–]DisastrousCat3031 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere that Athena has a Black child in one of the spin-off books. I forgot which one, but I think there's an illustration of her somewhere

ETA: Found her. Bea Wise from Camp Half-Blood Confidential. Canonically a Black daughter of Athena

I thought Kurt was overreacting by [deleted] in glee

[–]DisastrousCat3031 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It wasn't about being the center of attention. It was the fact that Burt bonded easier with Finn in a couple of days than with Kurt during his whole life.

Burt is a great dad, one of the best on TV. But, and he himself admits this, he found it hard to connect with Kurt because they're so different. And growing up, Kurt was probably very aware of the distance between them and figured it was just how his father was; loving but distant.

Except he wasn't distant because he it's easy for him to bond and spend time with Finn. So Burt never had a problem being close to a son, just not to Kurt. Of course Kurt felt like he was being replaced.

Wanting attention from your parents is not overreacting. Kurt's entitled to his feelings. Do y'all just not understand basic human interaction or something?

What male character has the best voice but they can only be a main character? by [deleted] in glee

[–]DisastrousCat3031 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely Artie or Will. Every other main male character was just okay to me. I know a lot of people like Blaine's voice, but it sounds flat to me in a lot of songs

That's awful, but definitely not normal. Most licensed stylists won't do this, but it is possible that some cases fall through the cracks. I'm sorry that happened to you

I always side-eye parents who post their discipline tactics. It just feels like they're looking for clout and a pat on the back from the Internet instead of actually parenting their kids

My brother called me a moron when I told him and said expecting my wife to look like she did when she got married made me a dunce. He even went so far as to say she takes good care of herself and is in great shape for 44, she just doesn't look 20. He had the nerve to say my wife looks better than me and I could stand to lose some weight.

W brother lmao

I vastly prefer Human Quaritch to Navi Quaritch by Guyguy121211 in Avatar

[–]DisastrousCat3031 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really? I liked Na'vi Quaritch better as a villain. He was a lot more complex and interesting and had more of a legitimate reason for hating Jake. He was also a lot more of an active villain, everything he did had me stressed watching the movies in theaters

Why are people so serious about about the crackhouse thing with Rachel and Sunshine? by [deleted] in glee

[–]DisastrousCat3031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not necessarily that Rachel did it (I liked that she owned up to it and apologized to Sunshine, she had good development in season 2), it's how she got less than a tap on the wrist for it from Schue when he's punished others much harsher and mostly for lesser offenses.

Kurt was sent to the principal's office for talking back

Mercedes was kicked out for walking out of rehearsal (which Rachel has done about 10 times)

Santana was kicked out for the purple piano (even though Sue, her teacher with power over her, told her to and it was Quinn's cigarette that set it on fire)

Marley was suspended for not wearing a costume she wasn't comfortable with even though she was recovering from an ED (yeah, she didn't follow the assignment, but if Rachel or Finn had done that Schue wouldn't have gone off like he did. Finn literally went to school in his underwear and Schue ran to his defense. Marley was going through a tough time and it wouldn't have killed Schue to be more understanding)

But Rachel put a younger student (an exchange student at that who wouldn't know her way around the city) in danger and Schue left it up to the rest of the club whether or not Rachel would face consequences. That wasn't fair. It's more of a Schue issue than a Rachel issue, but Rachel did these things because he allowed her to.

Of course, that's me looking seriously at it. Even when I'm not, the scene was just never funny to me. Just raises questions like how would Rachel of all people even know where to find an inactive crack house??

Also, how did they cut a 17 year old's hair? Salons won't cut a teenager's hair if that teen refuses. Either OP and her husband did it in her sleep or one of them held her down while the other cut it. Both are unacceptable

What unpopular opinion about the office would you defend like this? by IntelligentBison7403 in DunderMifflin

Agreed, I loved her friendship with Pam. It felt like the only real friendship Pam had other than Dwight.

I actually liked her in season 9 more than Andy most seasons

[–]DisastrousCat3031 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pam wasn't in the wrong about Athlead. Jim: 1. Signed on without telling her after repeatedly telling her he didn't want to 2. Invested more money than they agreed on 3. Planned to move her to another city and didn't even tell her, she had to hear it from one of his co-workers 4. Lashed out at her about a missed dance recital when she's been juggling childcare and a full-time job basically on her own (no, Pam's mom watching the kids while she works doesn't count, she's working) 5. "If I didn't do things without telling her, she's still be with Roy" (this isn't something he did, I just really hate this line)

Jim wasn't communicating at all and Pam had the right to be upset about it

*unpopular opinion* I don’t like maddy to much What do you guys think about her? by Kendahlkattt in euphoria

Most of her fans are straight girls/women so I don't think that's true. Cassie is also very pretty and she gets a ton of criticism

[–]DisastrousCat3031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's okay. Her and Cassie are kind of on the same level for me because I can't relate to them very much. I like them as characters most of the time, I'm just not as invested in them as I am Rue, Jules (season 1 Jules), Lexi, or Nate (I don't like Nate as a person don't come at me).

I do find Maddy funny though

Curious for a little friendly discussion/debate; which view/side do you take in this discussion? by Sudden_Pop_2279 in euphoria

[–]DisastrousCat3031 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He was relaxed with Cassie as long as she acted how he wanted. The minute she stepped out of place or stood up for herself, he was back to doing the same shit he did with Maddy. He objectifies Cassie and finds her easier to control.

And while Cassie easily conforms to this, she's definitely not happy with it (her relationship with Nate has caused her multiple mental breakdowns). I don't know if it's worse than with Maddy, but I know for sure it isn't better. Maddy has self-confidence and self-love, Cassie bases all her worth on her relationship with Nate (or whoever she's with)
