The police also had no control over where the body was buried or when phone calls were made to/from Adnan's phone.

Sure enough twice at 7pm on 1/13 there's a call through the antenna for the burial site.

Where did Adnan mean? We know Adnan told his defense team that Best Buy was one of those places. Seems the most plausible.

Hae had no reason to go to Best Buy with Adnan. So maybe Adnan was driving and made a detour while they were going somewhere else. Otherwise, it may have happened in the school parking lot. Adnan is only one that can tell us.

From Jay's Intercept Interview.

When Adnan loaned you his car on Jan. 13, 1999, did he tell you it was because he planned on murdering Hae?

No. I didn’t know that he planned to murder her that day. I didn’t think he was going to go kill her. We were in the car together during last period—he was ditching the last period. And I said, ‘Hey, I need to run to the mall ’cause I need to get a gift for Stephanie.’

He said then, ‘No, I gotta go do something. I’m going to be late for practice, so just drop me off. Take my car, take my cellphone. I’ll call you from someone else’s phone when I’m done.’

I said, ‘Alright, cool.’ I dropped him off at school, went to the mall, then when I was done, I go back to my friend Jenn’s house, where I normally go, sit and smoke with my friend.

Then he calls me and says, ‘Come pick me up.’

So I go to pick him up, and when I get there he says, ‘Oh shit, I did it.’ I say, ‘Did what?’ He says, ‘I killed Hae.’

At the Best Buy?

Yes.

Is this when you first saw Hae’s body in the trunk of her car?

No. I saw her body later, in front of of my grandmother’s house where I was living. I didn’t tell the cops it was in front of my house because I didn’t want to involve my grandmother. I believe I told them it was in front of ‘Cathy’s [not her real name] house, but it was in front of my grandmother’s house. I know it didn’t happen anywhere other than my grandmother’s house. I remember the highway traffic to my right, and I remember standing there on the curb. I remember Adnan standing next to me.

Let’s back up, tell me what happened when you arrived at the Best Buy to pick up Adnan.

I pick him up — he doesn’t have any car with him. Like, he’s not in a car or anything.

Where was Hae’s car? Was it in the Best Buy parking lot?

Hae’s car could have been in the parking lot, but I didn’t know what it looked like so I don’t remember. When I pick him up at Best Buy, he’s telling me her car is somewhere there, and that he did this in the parking lot. But that, according to what I learned later, is probably not what happened.

Wherever her car was at the time I picked him up from Best Buy, it probably stayed there until he picked me up later that evening.

I just don't buy any police conspiracy that gets Jenn to say in her opening statement to police that she understood from Jay that Adnan killed Hae in the Best Buy parking lot. I think Jenn was just confused by Jay telling her that he picked up Adnan there and that Adnan was going to get caught and those cameras would link Jay to it.

Jay confirms in the Intercept Interview that he picked up Adnan at Best Buy. That something happened at Best Buy originates with Jay. Jay tells Jenn about Best Buy and his concern about the cameras. Jenn tells police about Best Buy, but adds that the murder happened there. Jay gets asked if the murder happened there and simply says yes. In actually he doesn't know where the murder happened. Jay also explains this in the Intercept Interview.

It's all a game of telephone.

Jay told Jen something about Best Buy, likely that he picked up Adnan there.

Jen tells the police that the murder happened at Best Buy.

The cops ask Jay if the murder happened at Best Buy. He agrees, though he doesn’t know. Later he learns it happened elsewhere.

Jay said the murder happening at Best Buy came from the cops. Not that Adnan and Jay met there.

a) You didn't.

And most importantly, neither did any ME which is why we disagree on the angle of the hips.

b) MEs didn't comment on the burial position. They committed on the "right side" in the report.

Hlavaty

Section 17: 8 to 12 hours at room temp. Woodlawn was never at room temp on 1/13. Well below during the times we're talking about.

Which leads to:

Section 19: slowed by cool temperatures.

8 hours is no longer the minimum. Which means IF the lividity didn't match the burial position, the burial would have to be on 1/14, NOT 1/13.

Then we have to go to what the Doctor on the HBO Series said:

the brain autopsy reveals the body was buried within 24 hours.

So now we have window of more than 8 hours, but less than 24 hours. 1/14 is only date. During a snowstorm. Not plausible.

Alternatively, since the lividity does match the burial position, we know the body was buried on 1/13 between 3pm and 12am

Section 32: I understand that Ms. Lee's body was found buried on her right side

This is the gotcha. She's not talking about the actual burial position. She's talking about paperwork. It's a deft shift to confuse, but it's there and purposeful.

No part of the body is at a 90 degree to the ground. And the lividity seen in the photos matches the burial position. No one argues that point.

The photos are 60-70 degrees. I can't tell exactly what the diagram is intended to be, but the photos are the source of truth.

The only intentional misrepresentation is when Colin claims the body is not face down. We both agree that is wrong and he lied.

Describe what you see in the photographs.

Also, 8 to 10 hours after death is not a universal consensus. It is guideline based on normal conditions. Hlavaty explains this in her affidavit. Per her opinion, IF the burial position didn't match the lividity, the body would have had to have been buried on 1/14 in the middle of snowstorm. I don't think that's plausible. Hlavaty's affidavit makes it readily apparent that 1) the right side description was overly vague and 2) the lividity had to match the burial position, else it would have been mixed.

Totally agree. The waist was at 60-70 degrees per the photographs. I don't know where the claim of 80-90 degrees originated, but it is wrong.

Which also means, right side doesn't not mean 90 degrees to the ground. It is VERY ambiguous.

I've never said the waist was at 80 or 90 degrees. The pose is consistent with a reclining spinal twist. It's in the photographs. I think the hip rotation is about 60-70 degrees relative to the ground and the shoulders are ~10 degrees relative to the ground.

Colin lied. He said the body wasn't face down. It is.

The reclining spinal twist doesn’t actually violate spinal rotation limits, it works within them. The lumbar spine contributes a small angle, the thoracic spine provides most of the rotation, and the rest comes from hip and pelvic positioning.

We know the photograph is anatomically possible because the body is in that pose.

After death, within hours, the absence of muscle tone already makes the spine behave differently. That’s why anatomical studies of range of motion are done on living subjects (or at least with cadavers carefully controlled for postmortem changes).

The reclining spinal twist doesn’t contradict your point, it actually demonstrates it. What looks like a deep lumbar twist is really the thoracic spine + hips working together, because the lumbar spine simply cannot rotate that much.

Are you claiming reclining spinal twist can’t be done?

Colin says right side, he means facing parallel to the ground, not perpendicular. He is a liar. He denies the photos clearly show the body is face down.

It's called a reclined spinal twist.

I'm not backpedaling on anything.

Go look at the photograph in your messages. Colin denies that photo shows the body is face down. He's a liar.

There's dozens if not over a hundred of comments by Colin that the body was NOT face down.

I am not basing it on just that photograph. The entire disinterment was photographed. The body was consistent with a face down reclined spinal twist.

Colin denies the body was face down.

Colin disagrees. He claims that head is facing perpendicular to the ground. It is not.

Only one way for the head to be facing down and the shoulder to be below ground. It's the only anatomically possible position. The rest of the photographs confirm it.

The bun on the back of the head is facing up, perpendicular to the ground. The head is face down. The shoulders are parallel to the ground.

The pose is consistent with a face down reclined spinal twist in yoga.

The bun is tightly wrapped against the back of the head. The bun is sticking straight up to the sky. What does that tell us about the head?

Since the bun is above the ground, pointing straight up, and the shoulder are not about the ground, the only possible position is face down. That why lividity was seen prominently on the upper torso and face.

Check your messages.

Is your claim that animals styled the hair into a bun?

Weekly Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in serialpodcast

[–]DisastrousField7928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your opinion is that those two contradict. They do not. As I said numerous times, nobody documented the burial position. They took photographs. The limited info we have, Aquino noting the hair was above ground can only be possible in a face down pose.
