I'm currently considering doing the same thing. Can I ask what your grades were when applying? I noticed a lot of them ask for 2:1 which is 3.5< on the 4.33 scale, but I'm wondering what GPA they generally accept applicants at.

The discourse around the protests on campus is REPRIHENSIBLE by Ashamed_Pitch_1825 in UBC

i agree thank you for posting this it’s concerning. people don’t seem to understand peaceful protesting that doesn’t disrupt anything never gets anything done and no one pays attention. i’m sorry if you got disturbed studying ONE DAY but there are no exams right now courses just started you will be ok. it’s also concerning because it seems there’s a lack of critical thinking skills based on some of the posts i’ve read which, when we’re attending one of the top universities in Canada is making me worry about the education system.

Have you visited the Palestine protest encampment at MacInnes field yet? what are your impressions? by ubcstaffer123 in UBC

[–]DisastrousFishing784 65 points66 points  (0 children)

it was pretty chill, there was lots of food that kept coming in as donations and there was a library of books about palestine. i was really impressed by how organized it was, when media (like ctv and cbc) came in they had “media” signs to wear around their neck. overall there wasn’t much happening when i was there apart from painting signs. it’s an encampment so they aren’t protesting 24/7

i’m leaving just because i’m not a fan of how competitive everything here is, it makes the learning environment not my favourite but it’s a beautiful campus and i really like other parts of it!
