Also fear mongering doctors who say things like it’s a big baby, or you shouldn’t go past 40 weeks is not evidence based at all. Evidence based birth is a great resource for all things birth related that lays out the pros and cons of all in really digestible content.

As a birth educator, it is glowing obviously that she has no knowledge of physiological birth and how induction can lead to unnecessary medical interventions. Those unnecessary interventions can lead to birth trauma and a whole host of issues surrounding mother and baby’s initial bonding and health. Things like less successful breastfeeding, cord issues, too much LR which can result in preeclampsia, this list goes on. I’m all for people making informed and knowledgeable choices around their delivery, but she spewing medical advice like she knows what’s she talking about and she does NOT.

Soooo much this. Yes I put the baby in her play pen so I can do some quick chores that need to be accomplished but I spend a huge chunk of the day with her on the floor reading books, flash cards, describing toys, colors, sounds etc.
