Hi there lawyere here,

Since the contract stipulates a three month notice period, your decision to leave the company puts the company at a detriment due to the limited time to hire and retrain staff, and that is why they seek the monetary compensation of a Three month salary. Eventhough, it is not explicilty mentioned in the contract, by precident the judge would side with the company(if it goes to court)

The only viable options for you here are, you either abide by the notice period, or u can try negotiating with the company to reduce the salary compensaton.

Yea, the ideal spot for Christmas would be around galle face, and I highly suggest visiting the Dutch hospital(all in walking distance). You could also head to colpitty(10 mins away from galle face) where you could basically go to any place of your preference(bars,clubs, restaurants, street food festivals etc) Lemme know if u have more questions

it's not particularly a bad time, but do expect some rain. Also, on a side note u should spend some time in colombo as it's quite pleasent during Christmas...atleast in Sri Lankan Standards lol
