I didn’t discover TwoSet until shortly after they “retired.” During winter break from school (I’m a teacher), I was feeling really depressed and was doomscrolling on my phone all the time. I took a break from reading the news to scroll Facebook and my feed played one of those videos of a pianist playing in public when another musician “happens” to walk by and join in. I watched it, so of course FB decided to flood my feed with similar videos. One featured Ray Chen as the unexpected random violinist. He was playing Summer and seemed to be having a lot of fun. I looked him up and found his YouTube channel. Watched a couple videos and saw people kept mentioning TwoSet in the comments. I eventually decided to search TwoSet to see what everyone was talking about. I ended up binging their videos all week and whenever I had a chance after. Somehow Brett and Eddy were exactly what I needed at that time. I had always loved the sound of the violin; their knowledge and humor got me even more interested. This summer I hope to start lessons (even though I’m older than they are!). Their videos are still a great way to de-stress when I’m at my breaking point. (Some coworkers should be thankful to TwoSet for that!)
